Sales Pitch, From A 12 Year Old.

My daughter has a friend staying over and they want to go to Teen night at the YMCA.

Her---Dad, Can we got to the Y tonight? (The request)
Me---Whats up?
Her Its Teen night and its a lot of fun. (The event)
Me---What are you going to do there?
Her---Its inflatables night, were just gonna bounce around, there are lots of adults to watch things, its great. (The pitch)
Me---I don't know. (The objection)
Her---So and so will be there and their parents are really strict you know.
There"s nothing on TV and its cheaper than the movies. (Creating a need)
Me---How much does it cost. (The budget)
Her---Only 5 dollars. (The value)
Her---So can we. (The close)
Me---OK, I'll drop you off
Her---Thanks dad, your really cool! (The benefit)

Can I hire her?

(My oldest daughter is only 4, so it'd draw too many questions!)

She may be only 4, but I bet she's already working you over

Great thought and well done.

I have a thirteen year old step daughter who really works me over when she wants something. It is really a lot of fun.

Thank you for the thread.

So, Silvertree, are you going to be soliciting other bids? Shop around to see what you could get for $3? Advertise it on CL?

My daughter is 9 yo, and lemme tell ya, she has pretty much the same pitch. I dont know is it just me getting older, or kids are getting smarter these days?

My daughter is 35, married with 3 kids and a dog. Doesn't live with me but the pitch doesn't change. Just costs more and harder to resist when she puts the grandkids and granddog up as references.

When I was a young man I thought, man I just want to be surrounded by beautiful girls when I grow up.

Well, I got my wish

Anyone notice how we promote this? I was a lot tougher on my older kids, and spoil the baby girl rotten....
