Referrals

I just had an idea. What do you all think. I was thinking if I painted someones house and had something set up and told the HO if you refer someone and they get there house painted by me we will pay you $50.00 or $25.00 or whatever what do you think about it..Would i make more money from referrals or lose money in the end?

Re: Referrals

Give them great service and simply ask for the refferal.
Some people may look at it as bribing.
$25-50 or $75 is not enough for someone to become your advocate.
You need to make them do it in other ways.

Re: Referrals

We have a referral program in place that begins of course with doing a great job.
Our salesmen will then call the customer and tell them that we would like to stop by and take after photos and give them a nice thank you gift. (it's just a coffee mug with some chocolate, coffee and some other small things but it's a reason to get back into the house.) We will thank them for the business give them the gift and then they get a referral booklet with 5 referral coupons in it. We pay $150.00 for the first referral that becomes a job, $175.00 for the second, $200.00 for the third, $225.00 for the fourth and $250.00 for the fifth. We explain to them how it works and that a full $1,400,000 came from referrals last year and we would like to surpass that this year. We get referrals from a lot of these people that unless we asked them for it would not have given them to us. It may just be that the neigbor down the street commented about how nice the job came out. We will ask for their name or at least the address. Call it a bribe if you would like. Call it anything you want to call it but it works well for us.
