Actually, Home Depot is licensed making it legal #602331

I'm not entirely convinced that Kitchens by Design/AB Builders is his father. No matter....

You're correct, I was wrong. The Houzz page, which has M Hamel on it, says license 625191. The company web site doesn't display the license info.

That's interesting to see the officers of depot. Arthur blank is still listed.

It's interesting seeing the CSLB records for the giant engineering contractors. Pretty big responsibility, actually, being the qualifier for Bechtel or the like.

This took about 30 min. to create and to raytrace in Chief Architect. To be fare though I was just taking ideas from MrHamel's example and not starting fresh on a design.

He admited to not having a license in post #24 and I pointed out that his businesss model was illegal in California, where he is at.

Maybe that was enough to rethink what he is doing and going back to the drawing board.

woah i must say, 2020 design or 2020 spaces they call it now is really impressive. Wondering if they have such an app, not only for bathrooms and kitchens but for the whole home

Great post Mrhamel. You figured out how to turn essentially a loss into a way to make money. Thank you for sharing! I can definitely use this.

Re: Profit From Clients That Say "No" To Your Services...

Sites back up if you guys want an example.. And yes, definitely done some readjusting to the business model.. I'm now generating the leads and sending licensed contractors out to do the consultations and sales call.. They send me the dimensions, photos and notes and I knock out the designs behind the scenes..

And then I still get a percentage of the contract.. But from behind the curtain :+1:?

I just made sure I trained them on everything I was doing to close 95% of the sales calls I would go on, and theyre now doing the same kinds of numbers..

Less stress, less liability, MUCH more legal.. But the principal of getting paid up front still stands

It's crazy, 100% of homeowners know nothing about an HIS license.. Thanks for the heads up guys!!

It's so funny to me how many people in here are skeptical about designing a kitchen layout so fast.. Have you never used 20/20 Design??.

When I go to my cabinet supplier to buy cabinets... they do a rendering for me in about 15 minutes in 20/20 using my dimensions and sketch of the lay out... They can literally design my kitchen, order the cabinets and be loading them in my truck in less than an hour... And the installation is spot on every time...

That's a really smart approach. I will need to see if I can find a way to reapply to my business. Thanks for the inspiration.
