Book about using Twitter for business: http://yourtech.typepad.com/twitinbi...-business.html

Might be more informative than any of us have been about it's potential uses. Take a flip through of it if a local book shop carries it.

Only 9 reviews on amazon but people seem to like it: http://www.amazon.com/twitter-means-...3630275&sr=8-2

Re: Post Your Twitter Names/urls

Conclusion this morning: Twitter has reached the tipping point. It is now 'mainstream' -- like faxing was back in the 80s and Internet/Web brwosing some time in the late 1990s. Probably most people here will be ahead of the trend for this industry -- but we are far behind others in adapting these resoruces.
I'm setting up to follow everyone on this thread and will continue to add following links.

All I can is - wow, how things can change in such a short period of time, in this case less than a year - I see a few members on here (like me....) that laughed & are now happily twittering away and gaining leads from it

We don't post much on Twitter but do use it follow companies, relevant people and trends.

I believe it will become more useful as a forward indicator in time; right now the trends seems to be a little optimistic.

Re: Post Your Twitter Names/urls

Your twitter page links to your website. But many of your websites don't list your latest Twitter posts. I think it really adds to a website to have these on the home page. Although I don't know why.

Although Bill Gates has his latest twitter post at the very top of his home page even above his header.

Various forum members have been using Twitter for some time.
Here is the existing thread.

Paul ( PeckDryWall ) used to keep a master list of people we would add.

I'm checking into Twitter. Here's my account. So far I've only got spammers following. I created the account 3 hours ago and have 35 people(bots) trying to get into my wallet lol.
I'll follow any real contractor that follows me.

I like the idea of following the RE Agents. That is a good thought.

I have one that is linked to my Facebook page (so when I post of the business FB page it auto tweets for me) for my Photography Business http://twitter.com/ameliapearn

Re: Post Your Twitter Names/urls

Twitter is about building your brand. Just think about it this way. How many of you have your names on the side of your work vans? Most right? Now take Twitter, and increase the visibility of your business by about the size of Sweden.

Realize that Twitter can be what you make it....just got cup of coffee, blah blah blah.

Or

Just finished addition, here are some pics, anyone in "insert town here" need more room, call me!

Most people won't be able to use your service, but people love experts in their fields "Serving ****** since 1968" is a reference to your longevity and your expertise.

Now, imagine being able to create that same level of expertise in a matter of months. It's being done, every day! And someone is doing it in your town right now!

And like all marketing, you get out what you put in. The only difference is Twitter is free!
