New Flyer Design.

Hey everyone. Here is my new flyer design by Keith at KBK Graphx. Most of the text if from my web site and the TV promo was my idea just to do something different than a discount. Let me know what you think so I can make some changes if needed. Thanks in advance. For some reason when I attached this file it is a little blurry.

The seal in the corner makes it look light one of those cheap late night tv only specials. Can't explain it.

It's a flyer, not a corporate brochure. It catches the eye, it does what a flyer should.

Where is the pitch man?

You know, the slap chopper guy?

"You'll Love My Nuts"

Seriously, the TV's caught my eye so much with there images, that I felt like grabbing for my remote control.

It gets the attention and has a decent sounding offer and is done up very professionally. I disagree about the emblem in the corner. It fits.

The ONLY thing it is missing, is an immediate call to action, NOW. Such as Offer Expires By such and such date.....

Re: New Flyer Design.

First off... full disclosure, In my previous life I was in the direct mail advertising business.

The overall look of the ad is good, but, you have about 1.5 seconds to catch the consumers attention. If you just "glance" at this flyer it looks like an ad from Best Buy or Circuit City.

I would suggest that the TV's on the left were smaller & your "before & afters" on the right were larger. In other words, somehow make it more obvious that you are a remodeling company. You might consider adding some graphics of tools in the footer of the ad.

Next, (upper right starburst), if you change the starbust to a circle or slight oval & tilt it to "1:00" clockwise (and tilt the text the same way), it will get rid of the "as seen on TV - Home Shopping Network" look. All of the ad text is vertical - the "offer" will pop better if it is tilted.

Just my humble opinion...hope this helps.

Thanks for all the input on the flyer design. I am making a couple of changes before I get it printed. We'll see how it works when I do a test run in April.

I had to read the header a couple times to get it too, but I like the concept.

You didn't ask, but on your kitchen site...I'd lose the three top pictures. Why advertise the destruction phase?

Re: New Flyer Design.

First thing I noticed was the word TV at the top, saw the seal, then saw the tv's on the left. I tossed it in the trash because I don't need a tv. By the time I lost interest, I MAY have figured out that it was for remodeling. Too late then.

Perfect!

It is supposed to catch your attention and make you read it. It is not to be framed and hung over the fireplace.

Re: New Flyer Design.

The "TV Beautiful" thing throws me off,...may be inclined that it's an add to sell plasmas/ lcd's.

It is very eye-catching,....but you do want readers to understand your a remodeler, and not a wholesale tv liquidation company.

Again, just my thoughts...but keith at kbk graphix does indeed do some nice stuff.

-Good Luck

for the record, shamwow vince was just arrested in florida for repeatedly punching a hooker in the face, true story: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive...7092sham1.html

back to the flyer, looks good but very gimmicky. the high end pictures are great but i wonder if the tv thing would draw a customer who was looking for that type of work. catchy flyer though.

Re: New Flyer Design.

That ad at first glance looks like you sell TV's or install them.

IMO you need to change the header a bit. How about a header that says:

Picture your home in High Definition.

Also I would take out the TV in the header and add something more construction related. Maybe you could move the free TV offer to the bottom.

If LawnDart says to make those changes, listen to him.

He has one of the best, if not The Best eye for flyer and logo details that I have observed on this site.

It seems like a fresh idea to me Merbs and overall I like it.

I am never satisfied with my own marketing and continualy pick it apart also.

Re: New Flyer Design.

I suggest you experiment with a couple more headlines, forget about the play on words.

If you decide to stick with “TV Beautiful” thing I would get rid of the red seal in the corner so that you can see more of the picture on the TV.

Think about that headline. If you asked that question to a prospect on the phone what would go through their mind?

They probably would not know how to respond.

For marketing to work you have to connect with the conversation that is already going on in the mind of your prospect.

They may not care if their home is TV beautiful or not. Does having a home that’s “TV beautiful” motivate prospects to invest a large amount of money in their home?

I think the TV offer is better than a discount and placing your offer in the headline can be effective but only if the offer is perceived as valuable by the prospect.

In this case I’m not sure if it’s the road you want to go down. It could back fire.

The size of the investment required for the type of jobs you are doing may make the value of the TV trivial. I’m not saying you should ditch the TV offer only that you may not want to make it the focal point of the flyer.
