$350.00 is not much if this will help you, what are you trying to learn?

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

I have never went door to door and was wondering if this manual would help instruct me on how to go about knocking doors and get results.

Yes $350.00 is great for anything that will motivate you to get out and sale, Let me ask you if you would like some pointers in this thread?

I am ready to start doing this myself and have did some research with Phil Rea on this matter. Being a one call close master as I am this door knocking will be very handy.

There was a write up about Needham and his canvassing techniques in the Construction Marketing Blog, put out by Publisher1 from this site.

http://constructionmarketingideas.blogspot.com/2008/11/canvassing-in-columbus-how-to-knock-on.html

For $ 350.00, it seems like a worthwhile investment, if put into practice.

Are you from around the Round Lake/Lake Villa area?

If so, what towns are you considering. That would be a big No-No in North Barrington I would presume.

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

Ed,

Yea I read the article today and was just checking to see if anyone has actually purchased the manual and could comment about the information they received.
I would be working the Lake County area to start.

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

That is about the least expensive canvassing program for sale that I have seen when investigating them for myself.

How many canvassers are you looking at sending out to hit the streets?

Or, maybe a better question wqould be, How many crews do you have that you need to keep busy?

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

I have 3 roofing crews I would love to keep busy.
2 siding crews
1 gutter crew
I would like to start small and see how it works 3-5 canvassers. All my business comes from the yellow pages and word of mouth.
I still get the reco's but the economy cut my yellow page business 30-35% and would like to put my advertising dollars to work in other areas this year.

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

Phil Rea has a film crew walking with him on knocking doors, its very good and costs around $200.00 to $300.00. I highly recommend you watch that.

Thats what Mike Feazel from RSI did, to get training to set up a canvassing program for their members, but it didn't work out the way they thought it would.

I've got a few sources that bought into that program.

But, if you sell one job, would the $ 350.00 be worth it then?

Thats what they would say if you spoke with them probably.

No, run with it.

Just do a little reading about some techniques discussed.

You may have a different slant of the subject.

Sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I was attempting to stifle your enthusiasm about the topic.

Re: Needham Canvassing Training Manual

Here is a tip for you that I have posted in the past, in the Site Help and Suggestions Forum.

"If you've ever tried to search for something here where the search term is only 3 characters, you'll find you can't search anything.

Workaround:

Go to google.com

type the search terms you are looking for as usual and then type

site:contractortalk.com

Google will then search ONLY our beloved forum and spew forth the results."

Once again, thank Greg for this useful aide.[/quote]

TIP:

This also works for looking for a particular topic, for instance. "Canvassing", as an alternative to using the Search Function on this forum.

site:contractortalk.com canvassing

And.....

Here are the Google Results for Canvassing on ContractorTalk

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...com+canvassing
