Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
I have a big show coming up in 2 weeks. My problem is the inside of my truck is beautiful, but what can I put on the outside to peak peoples curiosity?
I just repainted the back with neutral colors. The downside to my display is you can't see inside when walking by. Realtors here use "I'm beautiful inside" for homes that have low curb appeal. Any suggestions?

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Can you steal me Tim Hortons sign? But then again all I would get is Canadians looking for donuts.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
How about a looping video of the inside of your truck on a tv at eye level.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
What about some type of canopy and sign of your business/display or pictures of your work....to draw people up the steps... Maybe have steps that walk straight down, so that your can see in your truck... Paint the steps to match your back door color....Maybe even a colorful back-lite fabric canopy, saying: "designer kitchen showroom"

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
I am getting graphics to cover much of the siding. Steps have to stay, already worked well for the first show, and I just squeak into a 30' booth.
Truck is 23' long, steps cpme out 3' and I need the desk. 30'------! I think Display inside is good, Not catchy, and maybe I dont need catchy. I am at a contractor meeting Thursday with 16 members, I'll bring the photo along, but it would be nice to order early.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
The Coffee/Latte/Espresso n donuts idea is a good one. Being a multimedia geek I like the looping video idea, too. Consider designing some signage w/ your logo and photos of your work. To save time and ease of output, design each panel at 8.5"x11", thinking in terms of what you'd put into a brochure of the same size (bulleted points, accent images/colors, great sample photos). Have them printed on a large format printer at 18"x24" and mounted on Foamcore. You might want to look around your area to get some prices because if you go to someplace like Kinko's they're likely to charge between $50 and $75 bucks a panel. Consider 1 or 2 panels on or in front of the table, a few others on the side of the truck, etc.
Last but not least, music. You could either use an iPod w/ speakers and load it up with music but you'll want at least 4 hours worth of music OR just pick up a boom box and tune into your favorite radio station. I'd be prone to do the radio thing because then I could sorta gauge the "feel" of the crowd and choose a station accordingly.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Thanks Mike, I knew I could count on you
Seriously ![]() People will get drinks from the expresso machine, Godiva chocolates for the women who spend a little time, chocolate is in one of the Rev a shelf products, you have to open the door to see it. I'll do fine, I have about a dozen large photos of past jobs, that and a sign that says "The worlds only mobile kitchen display" and Bobs your uncle. I'm just going to keep trying to come up with a clever come on in sign. The truck is perfect for small shows, I can just stay in the parking lot, for the big show its work to get them in.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Brightly colored vinyl shoe prints leading from the main aisle up your steps and into the truck.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Paul, I have participated in a many trade shows for three different industries. I have worked the booths as a sales person and been the exhibitor. What makes people stop and notice a display as opposed to just walking by? It is a moving picture. There is something about a slide show, video, or anything that is on a screen that makes most everyone stop long enough to identify what they are looking at. It is just human nature. They may not be interested at all in what you are selling but they can not help themselves from identifying what the flashing images on that TV screen are. Trust me, I have studied this at every opportunity and my theory holds up. Get some kind of monitor and make sure it is mounted below head height but higher than table height. You want them to stop in front of you and your truck to make their identification. The risk of having the image too high is that they identify your images from far away and decide not to stop in front of you. Once they stop in front of you, you"re on.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
I like that idea also, but I am in the isle when you walk in. I have no place to set the projector. But I'll ask a freind who does this if I can pull it off somehow. Thanks

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Were it my truck...
I'd have some french doors and materials on the back done up the really look like the entrance to a house. Have those opened up so people can see more of what's inside as they are passing by. The vinyl footprints and monitor display would be a good idea.

Re: Need Opinion For Show Display Teaser
Yeah, I figured as much....just a thought.
Some people are hesitant to approach/enter a trailer if they can't see inside first from a distance. Don't want to jump into a lion's den of salesmen or something. ![]() Something "welcoming" is key here. Put a fan next to the cappuccino machine and get that aroma outside. Of course the aforementioned "free lap dances" would be enough to get me coming inside.
