Need Help REALLY FAST

Hello.

I came to do some research because of al the stress I was getting with service magic. From this point I've been doing Monthly payment for service magic. After viewing some psots here, can you really do pay-per-deal with service magic? I did a live chat with someone at service magic and they said:

"We don't offer this anymore as the program is obsolete and you will not see success on this program. That is why I am wondering why you think it would be better. How much do you know about our old lead select program?"

can you tell me if I CAN switch up and they're lying or did they REALLY take off that option?

Re: Need Help REALLY FAST

We just received a call yesterday from Service Magic, they said $35.00 for a $14,000 dollar job, here is the number I was left 303-963-7200 contact Matt. We have never used the service. I can not tell you anymore than this. We had a ext. number, I just don't know what happened with it. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for replying. I just want to know if I can enable that option and not pay monthly! Because it's just rediculous to play certain $$$ and not get a single lead! It's like just giving money to them.

Someone else please tell me if I can enable this.

(firemike, I would change servicemagic if I knew any other sources. Yes, I've used the search engine in this forum to find other companies, but I just can't find the right one. Maybe some you can recommend?)

Thanks.

What is the stress with Service Magic?

A Contractor friend of mine uses it and likes it.

I want to exspand my buisness, so was considering signing up.

I've got a gut feeling not to.

Everyone I know that uses SM pays per lead. It may be dependant upon the kind of leads though.

Hey User22,

Slow down. Take a deep breath. Relax.

Hey bud, I thought there was going to be some major fire to put out the way you exclamated your topic question.

If you have been doing what you say for a period of time and have gotten no results, then that alone should point out the viability of SM for your area.

I don't know how much you are being charged on a monthly basis, but are you going broke because of it?

Just wait until you do a major direct mailing and do not get any initial response. Your life won't be over then either, will it?

Test marketing is a necessary procedure for any proven lead generation campaign to become an effective alternative to other choices you have.

Just drop them if you are too concerned, or tell them you will only stay if they renegotiate. If they don't, to heck with them.

The yes or no decision is yours to make. Some members have had excellent experience with SM, while others just chase their collective tails. For my company, it did not pan out over a 6 month period, and I pulled the plug in December, but may opt in again this spring.

Re: Need Help REALLY FAST

Service MAgic doesn't push the Pay-Per_Lead offer anymore. They want everyone to pay a fla monthly rate and the feed you leads until your budget is spent. Makes sense on their part - they know each month how much money thy are bringing in, and don't have to rely on contractors acceptign leads to make money.

I would avoid this like the plague, unless you accept everything that comes your way from Service Magic. Even though they do not offer it, and they say you will notbe successful, and you can't get it.. ask again. Or ask for someone else. I wouldn't want someone who doesnt know my business from the next deciding how to spend my marketing budget, and you shouoldn't either.

Re: Need Help REALLY FAST

SM is probably the most aggressive marketing company I have witnessed in awhile. I can respect that but they seem to cross the line in some of their practices thus I avoid them.

1) User22, based upon what I have heard from others they set a budget and SM feeds them leads until that budget is expended. If you are $1 under your budget they will then send you the type of lead that is most expensive thus maybe breaking your budget by 5%-20%. Having a budget and a set monthly fee are two different things though. In my company's profession there are plenty of months where no leads will come through. I would not want to pay a fee for sitting idly in their network.

2) In their PPC campaign and organic search domination they take advantage of searches for your company by placing ads for you. Example: Someone searches for my company. The first URL /phone number they see (under certain conditions) is a toll free Service Magic number. People call that and now Service Magic sells me that lead. WTF?

3) Again, keep in mind this is rhetoric and the camps seem to sway 50/50 pro and con but SM will spend time relentlessly pursuing your business. From what I interpret, once they have it, they are not as eager to offer customer service in the form of crediting bad leads.

4) User22, your phone call with SM seems highly suspect to me. What they told you may be the direction they are taking their operation but it does not mean it will be the most beneficial to you. I would pursue it further with them. I'm sure they will accomodate your wishes as opposed to losing you as a customer. If they won't, I say, "buh bye".
