Multiple Websites

My website has turned into a decent lead generator. I was thinking about starting another website to see if I could capture more leads thru different keywords, or maybe have another website geared toward a different type of client (like commercial or property managers). Just curious if anyone has tried running multiple websites? Or Is it better to just keep building & expanding the current site?

Re: Multiple Websites

Having several web sites is good, you can use them as a funnel to bring people to your main site.

Just be sure to keep your branding consistent so when people get redirected to your main site they don't freak out thinking your main site is not affiliated in the site they just left.

Effectively funneling leads from various sites can help you capture more leads but you want to funnel those leads to the same place otherwise managing them from different email accounts etc. will get complicated.

Re: Multiple Websites

In addition to our main website we have about 4 other websites. One is solely having to do with remodeling. Another for construction. And the last two are for expediting services. In addition, we also have about 4-5 profiles on different social networks that all provide a direct link to our main website.

We are constantly getting calls every week due to the different websites, but mainly because of our main one. I say go for it and allow yourself to succeed much more.

Re: Multiple Websites

Yep the more the better..

As part of the trainings I hold I like to use this analogy..

Think of your webpage as an island in the middle of the ocean. (basically it is) The chance of someone finding your "island" is slim..the chance of your ideal target client finding that "island" is even slimmer (Is slimmer a word?)

Now if this island just happened to have a pepsi plant on it that gave you an endless supply of bottles You could shove a note inside each one and hurl it out into the deep blue. With each bottle you have one more chance of being found.

The same is true for your website. The more places you post it where your client can trip over it the better...

Re: Multiple Websites

You should be able to make each page of one website react to different keywords, No?

Yep...each page can have it's own set of keywords, ultimately what you want to do is create a "web" that all leads back to a main page. If you do doors and windows, you may want one for doors and one for windows..then each of those go back you your companies construction site..

Thats a very generic example, I made another post some where on here..your domain name ranks higher then keywords according to google. Many people will do a search on "replacement windows boise" if you can get replacementwindowsboise.com you'll come up above any one who only has that keyword combo.
