Minnesota Door Knocking
Is anybody up to beat on the door knocking/flyer regulations in the Minneapolis area. It is a rather upscale area and was wondering if I could run into any trouble doing this. I am working on a house and would like to network the area.
I was thinking a direct mailer 1 square mile of home. Follow up with door knocking and flyering the next two Saturdays. Any info would be great. Like where to get info on the specific laws as far as marketing goes. Or specific pointers. Thanks! |

Re: Minnesota Door Knocking
If there is a no soliciting sign you may find out twice by a homeowner that will point that out and then slam the door in your face.

Re: Minnesota Door Knocking
Contact the town/ city hall,...or the local police department in the area you plan on canvassing.
While somer towns won't require a soliciting permit/ hawkers' license, some will. One town we canvassed in required copies of photo-identification prior to us going in their area to canvass. Makes sense if you're planning on hitting a well-to-do neighborhood, knocking on doors. Last thing some of these housewives want is "Uncle Pervy" dinging their doorbell. On a side note, Seamless~Your'e definitely on the right track of going about it effectively. Do a target/ direct mailer around a specific proximity of where you're doing/ or have done a job. (www.colonypress.com does a great job--postcard, postage and a personal note, mailed to 200 of the nearest residents around a job for $84.00). Give it some time for the mail to hit, then go ring some door bells and explain to them how they can benefit from your services. Good Luck!! |
