Marketing To Neighbors Of Your Job Site...

Just curious if any of you market to the neighbors of your job site? And if so, what exactly do you do? Do you send letters, use door hangers etc. What exactly do you say? I'm working on developing a letter to send to about 30-40 of the neighbors but I'm not sure what to put in it. How many leads do you get by doing this? Also, when you are on a job do you have signs in the yard with your company info.? I would love to hear about any other marketing tools you use to attract jobs, thanks!

I think you should put a lot of effort into this. Especially with the "keep up with the Jones's" mentality of many communities.

Here are a couple ideas for you:

1) Send out a letter... letting people know your doing whatever on the neighbors house.

2) Send out a second letter once the project is complete - inviting them to a "christening" of the project. What you are doing would of course depend on the project you complete, and getting the homeowner to agree to the idea (who wouldnt want to show off theri new deck or kitchen or addition?). You could also hand-deliver these.

When we sell a job we go around the neiborhood and write down the addresses of 50 people that need windows or siding. We then will do a reverse address search on whitepages.com to get the names. We send them 3 post cards.

1 before we start that says .......
In the near future, you neigbors, the ___________ at _____________will be showcasing a home improvement project in your neigborhood. WE will soon be installing ______________________ on their home. Be assured that we will go out of our way to keep the project from causing you any disturbance.
P.S. Please watch for special price insetives on new ___________________for your home.

1 dring the job that says........
If you haven't noticed already, we're currently doing a new project in your neigborhood. ______________________ on __________________ recently decided to add beatiful____________________________ on their home. Feel free to drive by to view the project in process. You'll notice our crews take great pride in producing a finished project that is done to the customers satisfaction. If you're thinking about a home improvement project, give us a call at ___________________ We'd be glad to give you a free, no-obligation estimate.
P.S. Ask us about special "The projct next door" price insetives.

1 After the job is complete saying...........
Your neibors, ___________________ at ___________________ returned a faverable review about their new __________________
As a special neibor of ___________, you'll recieve a spectacular 15% savings on your next home improvement project if you act before ____________ There is no better time to turn your home improvement project into an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Give us a call at ________________
P.S. Don't forget you'll receive a special 15% savings if you act before _______________

After the post cards are all sent, we then canvass the neiborhood.

We do yard signs, and put these door hangers on every house within a 2 block radius around our project.

We get quite a few jobs every week by using this door hanger. Feel free to use it if you like...

Actually, I do dirt. I believe using this image gets the persons attention. How many people will take a basic hanger off the door, and throw it away without reading the message? I guarantee you the majority of them do, but with the originality of this door hanger, I would be willing to wager that most people are atleast reading it.

With that being said It must be pretty good, because like I said in my above post, I get a few leads every week from it.

Do you mind if I use that? That would go over great here. This is a big Navy town. Can I get a usable copy?

I debated over that for a few days before I had these printed. I figured most people have seen this type of image in the past to know what it means .
