Marketing Letters To Jobsite Neighbors...
If you send out marketing letters to your jobsite neighbors, would you mind sharing them or at least sharing the basic content of them?

Re: Marketing Letters To Jobsite Neighbors...
When we are doing re-roofs, I walk over to the neighbors houses(only the ones with old roofs) and knock on the door. I then apologize for the noise we are about to make(this works on the first day of the job in the AM only) and let them know when it will be over. Free estimate follows a warm up, this has worked on several occasions for me. If there is a particularlly nice job (big tile re-roof)I have the foreman call me when thy see the H.O. so I can be hanging around if they have any questions.
I guess a letter would work as well, I just feel that I have more success with a face to face meeting with the crew in action. |

On the same topic - Our city requires the contractor to notify in writing all neighbors. The city actually sends out the letters and we must wait 10 days for feedback before starting work........

Re: Marketing Letters To Jobsite Neighbors...
Here's what we send out before we start a new home for our clients. We usually send it out in a 3-4 block radius of the lot we are building on since that is about the area we are effecting during construction.
Dear Neighbors, I’d like to take a moment to tell you about our newest construction project in your neighborhood and also to apologize for the noise and dust we are about to create near your home. We will be building a new home for the _______________ family located ______________ starting in _____________. Their home is a beautiful ________________design with ____ bedrooms and _____ bathrooms. We know there will be increased traffic and construction noise for a few months during our project and would ask for your understanding while we are building. If there are ANY issues that need attention while we are in your neighborhood, such as, refuse blowing around, dirty roads, unsafe conditions for your children, etc, please feel free to call me so we may remedy the situation immediately. I may be reached at or . We are truly concerned about being “good neighbors”!!!! If there are projects that you are planning for your current home or new home, feel free to call and we will be happy to look at them with you and give you a fast, competitive estimate. Sincerely, Sam Morgan Managing Member Walnut Grove Development LLC |

Vinyl Guy,
Thanks for the info for the other direct mail company. They seem to have an awful lot to offer. I just submitted my information for them to contact me. Here is the link for anyone else. http://www.colonypress.com/ Ed |

Re: Marketing Letters To Jobsite Neighbors...
Oppurtunity Knocks is a neat postcard company. The nice thing about what htey do is, it puts the persons first name on the card to draw attention.
Simple to use - you enter in the address you are working in, and select a radius (# of homes). They send out the postcards to those people. http://www.oppknockspostcards.com/samples/index.html - here's some samples.

Vinyl Guy,
I contacted Colony Press and am probably going to start using them for a small fall campaign and more extensively next spring throughout the remainder of the year. They sound like a one stop shop for those that want to outsource the mailing/marketing program for a reasonable investment. Ed |
