Marketing To Customs
Does anyone have marketing ideas for custom homes? I've got 2 people I'm talking to that are talking to other builders as well. I need to differentiate myself from them, or show my differences...just not sure the best way to approach it.
Ideas? Jason |

Re: Marketing To Customs
Yes get educated on all automated control systems, home automation is popular in custom homebuilding, hook up with a good company, and bring them to some of your meetings with the perspective clients. let them meet your team, most builders will not put that effort in.

Re: Marketing To Customs
As always, make the best impression at the begining. Mainly give important paperwork to them about your company etc (customise the paperwork - as I call it, LB Info Pack).

Re: Marketing To Customs
Step back and ask yourself what sets you apart from the other home builders?
Green is big now and do you have full time on site supervision? How many times do you the contractor go to the site? Do you video the building process or take digital pictures to build a book to give to your client at closing. Do you have a lifetime warranty? This is a biggie! This makes a statement to your client of trust and great building practice and show you only use the best builder materials. There is always a way to stand above the crowd. Find your hoopla factor. |

Re: Marketing To Customs
I had a customer I was trying to get and I printed off some 8 x 10's of some of my better jobs and brought them to the meetings. I also gave them to them, it sold me the job.

Re: Marketing To Customs
Thanks for the ideas. I already make everything I give someone very personal, with my logo, colors, etc on them. And I am working at becoming a more green builder.

Re: Marketing To Customs
Maybe try networking with mortgage brookers, and Real estate agents. I would also try to have a small display built and get in out to any event where the public is like: Home Shows, a Mall, Fair, festiville, craft show, any other that you can think of. The display should have a great looking back drop.
