Majority Of Jobs Come From....

Hi all, I am interested in seeing where most of you all get business from? Referrals? Ads? I've seen quite a few contractors seem like they are always busy and moving from one job to another. We are a new and small company and getting inquiries here and there, but I've seen companies with a steady pipeline of jobs. Is that how it is for most of you guys here?

What type of work do you do? I get by on referals, but depending on your trade that may not work for you, plus I've been working in my area for nearly 20 years, so I've met quite a few folks.

Referrals, repeat contractors/ builders as a sub and website/ Angie's, HA. Still tough to keep packed schedule at all times.

Like TEx said depends on what you do. I need 350-400 jobs a year to make the money I want.

All referrals here as well. I've been in business for almost 8 years. It was a little slow at first, but keep treating people right, and you will find the phone rings more often as time goes on. At some point, your schedule will be full.

Rarely have any down time. 99% word of mouth from past clients, suppliers & other tradesmen. Been working the same area for over 20 years. My best advice, especially starting out, Make sure every client is satisfied at the end of the project, no matter what. Network with other tradesmen & suppliers.

It's not for the soft-skinned, but cold calling is our most effective lead generator.

We are all referral's. You'll learn quickly that your reputation is very important.
If it's not done right, fix it, no exceptions, no matter how painful. It's worth it in the long haul.

Wow, looks like referrals are the way to go. We're just starting out, but hoping to be half as busy as most of you guys are!

1. Content / seo
2. Facebook ads
3. PPC ads

Referalls we get a bunch of, but are not tracked as a source because as its hard to decipher them from the content / seo.

GCs; repeat

Residential Clients; repeat

Residential clients; word of mouth

Residential clients new; online ppc

Residential clients new; angies list

Multiple streams keep you adaptable.

Re: Majority Of Jobs Come From....

Depends on your business. I need 40-60 leads a month. I want 100 a month so I can close about 35% and do 15 jobs a month or so per crew.

Some guys only need 5 jobs all year. I have weeks where we do more than 5.

My best ROI by far has been internet and my truck wraps.

Hey Prowork I haven't had much success with FB ads for my service which is pressure washing. However PPC and SEO are doing the trick I was wondering if you could enlighten me a bit on your process.
