Low Cost Company Gift Cards

I have Kieth from KBK GraphX working on some low cost (business card size) company gift cards for me and am looking for some fresh design ideas. Below is a sample of what he sent out to his clients last year and will be my starting point for the image and background only. The text will be different of course.

Does anyone have a good looking gift card to share? I did the whole Google Image search and got a few ideas but none where as eye catching as Kieth's.

These will be for year around use and will take the place of our gift certificates. The front will be high gloss on heavy card stock with rounded corners and the back will have no gloss so that we may write on it. On the back I would like to be able to write in an expiration date as well as who the gift card was given by and of course our authorized signature.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Thanks
Jesse

As a Graphic Designer by trade, I have to admit -- the guy's work is good. Strictly high pro -- and I'm a stern critic of design work.

The first card design doesn't quite have a "Christmas Gift" feel if that's what he was going for with the concept but, nevertheless, that's a minor problem. If that's what you're going for, once you get it tweaked to feel a little more gift-like he'll have your cards hooked up nice.

Thank you for your input.

I'm looking for a year around gift card - but with more pizazz than the average gift card. Target always has eye catching cards and I want to create a buzz that will make people talk.

$25 denominations for this first round and larger denominations in the future.

Here are the logos for our 3 small businesses. Any ideas on how to tie in our card designs to Kieths gift box and light burst ?

Thanks for helping brainstorm.

Well the gift cards have finally been sent to print on a rush order. Keith did an outstanding job by taking my idea and running with it. We used the style of a credit card, complete with the embossed phone number/ web site and fake hologram.

Thank you. He really out did himself this time. From now on I will just tell him what I need and then set him free to design how ever he sees fit.

The design looks great. I love the idea of the credit card! Very unique.

I guess these only work on small jobs. I'd have to do 500 or 1000 dollar gift cards.

Re: Low Cost Company Gift Cards

I .have often thought that I would like to do gift cards, but cannot figure out how they make sense for our business. We have a very narrow focus (granite countertops) as our only business. Oh yeah, we are also branching into tile installation. Any ideas how these could work for us?

How do your clients find you? We gave 5 cards to each to lumber yards, kitchen and bath showrooms and flooring showrooms. Maybe designers and or architects would be a good outlet?

For the price they are a great marketing tool

Good luck

Re: Low Cost Company Gift Cards

How much do these cards cost approx.?

I used to manage a storage place and we gave out a similar type of card that looked like currency and was good for a $25.oo dollar credit on their rent for any referrals. Worked really good, people hung on to them for a long time.

Re: Low Cost Company Gift Cards

I paid $100 for design cost and $65 for printing and rush shipping on 1,000 cards. (rush shipping was a joke don't spend the extra money)

2,500 qty. would be $90.00 or 5,000 qty. would be $140.00. I give out Leisure Time Travel and Maid Solutions gift cards to every new client and they do the same for me and each other.

I would love it if my subs would get some made and I could give interested clients their gift cards as well. The client feels like we "hooked them up" and the subs gain a sale through us....its a win win and everybody feels warm and fuzzy.

Some seriously good marketing ideas Jesse! I am trying to get something similar to this working with a maid I know, carpet cleaner, and a lawn care guy I know. Good luck in 2009!

So far so good - I'll let you know in a month or so. They where designed to hang on to but I put an expiration date of 02/28/09 for the first 800 that went out. Sometimes we are just leaving the expiration blank as well.
