Local Online Newpaper Or Local Print Newspaper Advertsing?

Which one do you think is better for a swimming pool company that services the suburbs of a big city?

Local online (banner) newpaper advertising, or free local print (sticker/insert) newspaper advertsing?

The packages our budget can afford to send out are:

25,000 online ad impressions total
-10,000 leaderboard ads 728 X 90
-10,000 skyscraper ads 160 X 600
- 5,000 rectangle ads 300 X 250
In one local online newpaper

or

2000
Sticker/insert ads in one free local print newspaper. The ad will be located on the front page and is basically a 3 inch by 3 inch "stick-it" note that the consumer can peel off and keep.

I have never liked banner advertising of any kind. It's hard to track the ROI, and even if you can, clickthru is usually very weak.

This is one time I'd go for the print version. I like those stickers that you have to peel off. They get seen - and peeled. Even if they don't stick it somewhere, they have to look at it to peel it off.

Thanks for the response, Susan. The sticker is a pretty neat idea isnt it?

BTW, if anyone has any marketing/advertising advice for a concrete/gunite pool builder that they would like to share, im all ears. I have a few interesting ideas of my own so maybe we can share. You can contact me here: ryanv5001@yahoo.com

I like getting features in trade publications done on projects that I have worked on in the past and find they will often give you free copies to use for your own marketing.

seems like newspaper advertising just isn't bringing in what it used to.
