Re: Kick Start The Business !
hurricane maps sounds like connecting your name w a negative.
I like warm & fuzzy. If you're not working anyway, spend some time as a social butterfly and drop in on people, as many as you can think of... then go next door... Basically, just keep yourself fresh in people's mind and remind them what a nice fellow you really are. r |

Re: Kick Start The Business !
what happened is that while you were working you forgot to continually advertise and promote
you need to spend more time and money, while you are busy, marketing your service so you won't have lulls tis easier to market while your busy and funds are available vice trying to do so when nothings coming in and your on your butt make a plan and act on it get face to face with people, build a repore, and hand out some cards/brochures hang some door hangers postcard mailers even better, sharpen your pencil, and find new ways to market your business that others aren't using call your past customers for more work, or ask if they know anyone interested do you have a referral program? why not? Create a referral program that has your customers seek out new leads for you. Just get up and get at em. Anyway you choose to promote your business is worthwhile. Far better than sitting around surfing the internet. You'll find better ways that yield greater results. Track your advertising endevours and see what works, and make a note of it. Then drop off on things that don't bring in good numbers, and reduce overhead. Good Luck

Re: Kick Start The Business !
That's a tough one... If I wanted to make something happen fast in a plumbing service company, I think I would focus 100% on other contractors, remodelers, builders, installers. And, if your business is slow, I'd focus the message on fast, competent service. Consumers look for a plumber on an emergency basis; rarely an elective choice.
Its WAY out of my briarpatch, just thought it might give you a fresh point of view. The last time I called a service plumber, it was because I really didn't want to crawl under the house. Guess what, he really didn't want to go under there either. $75.00, have a nice day! (Ever have your cellphone vibrator go off while in a 12" crawlspace in the dark? I wack my head everytime.) or service, reason being if there system is failing they are on the phone pronto... if all is well they have no motive to call... hope is not lost... i would advertise PRODUCT related upgrades ie water softners, filters. heating tanks... im sure there is a better market for upgrades than 911 repairs.... i will never say to shy away from service as it is the most over looked money maker in all trades... but for a kickstart upgrades are the way to go... if somebody came into my town and offered dechlor install units im sure they would do well, as our city water has tasted like a swimming pool since last summer... and i am not sensitive to chlorine i dont think you should rely on hurricane maps, generally people wont even notice or remember your name on them... remember no body thinks about plumbing as much as you do, nobody thinks about pools as much as i do... you have to bring the opportunity for them to upgrade no holds barred.. ray Last edited by POOLMANinCT; 04-04-2007 at 06:53 PM. |
