Re: I Understand

GTP

I asked, if you were trying to sell something, to please say so. You specifically stated you were not, only to open a thread somewhere else saying otherwise.

Why would someone buy marketing advice from you? Obviously, your method is to lie, and blow smoke to sell. Hardly the type of advice, anyone needs to purchase to learn.

Your even a terrible liar, much less a salesman. I sniffed you out a mile away.

Get lost

He might be OK.

If you are in sales, and have a hard time with rejection, then I would say sales may not be for you. People saying no is standard. You say you're treated like dirt, will give out things as you're treated better, that is not the mark of any good salesman.

There is a guy here named pcplumber that we all hopped on the bandwagon and beat the crap out of him with his posts. He stuck around, stayed with it, took the shots, and now almost everyone respects him and his advice.

Maybe you should reconsider your thoughts on this topic.

Re: I Understand

Well with all being said, and you dont know me, and i never said i was selling as a matter of fact someone emailed me asking to sell it and i said no. The reverse is a joke you think. Funny lets see you can lead a horse to water but you cantt make him drink it. Basically you have no idea how it works therefore lets put it down. As far as taking a beating been there done that. Call tinner and ask him what i know if not stfu. Some one pmed me how i would sell a window well thats a damn hard way to do it 1 sided not knowing who the decision maker is, what product they want nor budget. So i ask you sell me something if you guys have the market cornered. Spend 2200 dollars and send crap to the resident. I like to go up and down a street, basically own it. With what i use i get phone numbers that are unlisted. Do you? i have worked my way up from a laborer to a foreman to salesman to sales manager to owner then back to salesman. Im happy with that and i make more money doing it. To be honest i could give a hoot what you guys say you know it all. I just dont have time to waste on people that are not open to different ways of doing things. Like i said ask tinner.

GTP may have good information and may not be selling anything.

However, I seriously hope you can adjust your posts. Punctuation, capitalization, paragraphs and correct spelling are all a wonderful thing!

Furhter more i dont give anything out that i have worked years on to people that are rude. I can handle people like that, hows this. Tell a customer kiss mine tear a contract up in his face and ask him why on earth would you embarrass your wife like that and expect any respect from anyone. Oh yea he called the next day and i got the job for more than i asked in the first place. You guys that want to pound ok im really good at that little immature gmae but see i would rather get along and well swap ideas. All you want to do is put people down. I can take it, but be ready to take it. I dont back down. as long as the admin. let me go we can play the same games you guys want. Bar that, i like pain so im game are you?

Re: I Understand

Do you use subs and if so do you insure them?

Do you know what a ghost policy is?

Whats your warranty?

What product or products do you sell?

Do you know what everything costs to the penny so you have room to move around if needed to get the job?

Whats your overhead currently?

Do you do the work and do you have how many employees?

Do you replace every damn thing on the roof?

Do you do recovers and why if so?

Do you need a complete remake to get the company spending less money and bringing more money? This is ok I can do whatever it takes to help. Answer the question please in detail.

How much help do you need and be specific? Tell me everything

What do you think your problem is be specific please?

What do you wear on estimates?

Do you park in the driveway?

If so why?

Do you take your shoes off? Important

Do you have a folder with all your info in there?

Whats in it and why?

Do you have any budget for ads? I can eliminate that very easy.

What is the first thing out of your mouth when you answer the phone?

I want exactly what you say so be specific please

Do you have a good reference list?

How many how is it structured?

Do you shave for the estimate?

If not why?

Do you own a laptop?

If so what do you use it for?

Do you own a digital camera?

Are you using it?

Do you know what a close is?

If so give me examples of how you do it please and I hope you have more than 1?

Do you get your own leads?

How do you do this?

How do you talk to the customer?

Again be specific please?

Do you have a pitch book made with every answer in black and white?

What’s in it if you have one?

Do you have cards?

If so are they printed on your computer, fancy, plain old card what is it describe please

How do you ask for the sale?

This is a combo and kinda of a trick question be specific again please. Explain what you do please

Are you willing to spend the time and money to make yourself successful?

Not much money is needed for you but it takes effort are you willing to listen to me?

Are you willing to talk to yourself in the mirror or another person practicing the close and pitch?

If so what do you say?

Do you know how to go around objections?

If so how do you do it be specific again?

Do you know anything about roofing?

Obviously you do so with that how is your contract set up if you could send me a copy?

Do you call back the customer a few days later to see if they have any questions or concerns you may be able to answer?

Ok what do you say and why do you say it? Be specific

And what do you say when you call back?

Do you pre-qualify the customer on the phone before going to see them?

This is very important removes the tire kickers if you do what do you say?

Are you the first guy in the door?

If so why?

What is your presentation like and explain in detail please?

Do you just do drop offs ? if so why?

Do you tell the number last and if so why?

Do you speak after the number is said?

How is you folder setup be specific please?

Do you measure the roof first of do you ask some questions and introduce yourself first?

If you do introduce yourself first do you have something for them to read or a DVD explain your company and it needs to be short like 15 minutes 20 max that they can keep?

If so why the hell not?

Well it does come into play when someone is trying to READ what you wrote. Let me give you some advice: Try using Firefox as your browser. It has a spell checker built right in.

When you're trying to reach someone via the internet (computer, typed posts), grammar, punctuation and spelling are all that you have to connect with them. Trying to read your posts is very hard. That is fact, not someone picking on you. I, for one, would take your posts a lot more seriously if they were properly formatted.

Now, if you're here to tell a silly story about something you saw happen at a job site, none of that matters.

Re: I Understand

How do you expect to be taken seriously when:

1) You comment like a 14 year-old (I know you are but what am I)?

2) You have given absolutely no background short of 'laborer to . . .' etc, what the hell does that even mean and with whom? You could have gone from laborer to "owner" and back to sales with a dog **** cleaning company. I'm afraid in that case you couldn't help with my target market.

3) You come on here asking for people to email you to receive information - what does that sound like to you? Someone that really wants to help or someone that's trying to sell crap?

4) You're grammar sucks ass - and that's fine to some extent (although for someone that is supposedly a sales guru proper grammar should be a required aspect of the job) but you are apparently absolutely incapable of pressing the return key. Not only does that make your mindless rants difficult to read, it's pretty f***ing rude!

How about, if you actually do want to help out, rather than requiring someone to email you for your crap you actually post a small part of it here as a thread and show us what an expert you are? Maybe if you build a bit of trust and bless us with just a tiny inkling of your vast expert marketing knowledge some of us just may listen and exchange ideas.

Right now you're just a dick.

Hey - you found the return key, congrats!

Re: I Understand

I know the answers as they pertain to my business. Your questions sound like a sales pitch to me. For instance:

Quote:
Do you have any budget for ads? I can eliminate that very easy.
Will you eliminate my budget? My need for a budget? My ads? What are you going to eliminate? And what you mean is that you can eliminate "that" easily - not easy.

Not a bad looking flyer. You may want to change the word "insure" to what you actually mean - ensure. How much business have you lost because someone would not trust the roof of their most expensive asset to someone that does not know how to use the word ensure? I sure as hell wouldn't. Unless you are actually going to pay if the warranty doesn't cover - because that is what you've written.

Hire a proofreader. Really. Just trying to help.

Re: I Understand

Pride postcard.pdfThats not the warranty that i slapped together to make a point. As far as budget, you guys have already bashed a portion of it so why would i give anymore out. Treat me with respect i am bery happy to help in anyway i can. Bar that you guys want to post funny pictures, i have one well that i cant post due to the rules. Everything i write is spell checked before its made by not 1 but 2 people. I could give two poops that you would buy from me. But as it seems you will not answer simple questions so with that answer them and might might learn something. If not you have no clue. Im just here to try and help you dont want it kill the thread i could care less. Im disabled at this point and have nothing better to do than sharpen my skills. But i will say this i really have better things to do than give everything i have worked for to people that do not respect me. You want to call my old boss before i got hurt, i will more than be happy to give that info out in a pm format since it is a cell number. He will explain 100 leads we both made 38000.00 running off of just canvasses leads. This is my last post untill someone here has either brains or balls to answer my questions, since you question me i have put forth a set of questions for you. PM the answers please so we dont overload the thread. If not i have better things to do. WHat do you think of this. Stage 1 of not throwing 5000 cards all over the place.
