I Don't Know How To Upload A Sitemap

I just built my new web site, and I know how to generate the site map, but I don't know how to upload it to the root drive. I have read you save it to a notepad and the save it to the root drive but I have NO idea how to do any of it. I built my site with Art Explosion Publisher pro, if that helps at all. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: I Don't Know How To Upload A Sitemap

I built the site map with one of those free generators at auditmypc.com and it is an XML format. The software I bought to build my web site is Art Explosion Publisher Pro. My problem is I can generate a site map, but then when I have to copy and save it where do I go next. Do I have to create a new page on my website and just paste all that site map code on a page or do I insert web HTML. I just don't know how to save anything to my root drive or even where to locate the root drive when I’m saving anything.

Re: I Don't Know How To Upload A Sitemap

Right, but how do you get your website from your Art Explosion program to the web. I use an outside uploader called Fetch. With Fetch I can upload my entire website if I want or pick and choose what I enter. So I save my sitemap to a txt file hit the "put" button and save the sitemap. That's my root. Your root is whatever folder your website is saved in. Mine is hallamcontracting.com. If I knew how you got your site to the web I might be able to help a little more.

Re: I Don't Know How To Upload A Sitemap

Hi BockCorp,

It sounds as if you have made a XML site map which is used commonly these days for search engines to spider your pages. If you were to take the xml and paste it into a new html page you will notice that it doesn't come out looking pretty

So your left with the option of taking the xml data and making it into html, which involves programming which you won't want to deal with, OR just submitting the sitemap to search engines such as Google so that they can find all of your pages.

Hope that helps.
