How Do I Advertize/promote My New Website?

After being in the remodeling business for years, we finally have a website. I am looking for ways (hopefully inexpensive) to drive local prospects to my website. We are located in Peoria, IL and only do business withinn about a 40 - 50 mile radius. Any help/advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

create a listing in google local business center as well as yahoo local.

search your company name and try to edit an directory profiles that you're listed in if possible.

if you want to spend some money for pay for click advertising, start using adwords

search engine optimize your site (seo), best way to learn about this is just search for seo in google.

consider a blog and social networking.

Yes. Targetted SEO is key. Maybe throw in a bit of PPC. Get a Google webmaster acount, use their verifier and their urchin.

I'd like to see the web site. I think that might not be possible for you to link in here with only one post though.

Thanks stairjunkie. I have done all that you suggested except "pay per click". What about the more trditional meathods of advrtising I.E.; newspapers, radio, TV ads, signage, etc?

getting people to spread your name around for you should be a goal; networking.

signage.... try those window decals you can put on your rear window of your car or something. like those "university of ... " signs

put up a sign outside the house you're remodeling when you're working there.

Kill the flash, my eyes are bleeding! Once I start to focus on something the whole page changes, maybe it's just me?

2 humungous blank areas in the middle of the page for me.
You need to do a bit more here:
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
<title>Peoria Home Services</title>
<link href="global.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="style_landing1.css"

You have to fill in your meta tags that's how search engines ranks and list your site. in your code fill in these fields

<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
example
<meta name="keywords" content="home service, home remodeling, home repair, kitchen, batroom make over" />
<meta name="description" content="Check out peoriahomeservices.com for a full make over of you current bathroom or kitchen" />
