Hey You Want More Leads? Try Network Marketing

I recently started taking names and numbers of other trades while I am working in a customer's house. I get to see the other guy's work. If I like what I see, I trade business cards with him. I store his name and
number in my phone for future reference.
When a HO ask if I know for a plumber, electrican, etc i give the HO the name and number. I follow up with either a call or e-mail to the other contractor as a heads up. Now this contractor remembers to pass my name and number along to people he comes in contact with.
This is the best part: It cost you 15 minutes of your time and a stack of business cards. No money is paid for the referral. It's all based on the pay it forward theory.
It's a lot less expense than pay an internet lead company $50 for a lead that 5 other contractors are fighting over.

great idea, network marketing does work. you should see if the guys you want to network with are interested in meeting once a month for lunch/dinner/beers/whatever to talk about their business ideas and experiences, and to help each other understand what types of quality leads they may be looking for

I have been doing that for a while now with limited results. I also have them listed on my website with a link to their site if they have one. I think part of the problem for me is I have a real small list of the other trades I use (all the good ones) But they also do work for another dozen Carpenters

Network marketing works, and sometimes the network buys from you! We're going to be doing a fence for the builder that did the last residential property we did.
