Has Anyone Tried This

This is the time of year when things slow down for me. I've had mixed results with this before and wonder if anyone else has tried it.

To drum up new leads I'll offer a free dishwasher with a kitchen remodel or a free whirlpool tub with a bathroom remodel.
Spring for a 500.00 item on a $5K to 10K job, let me know your thoughts.

It is a fair hook. I've seen it here locally presented that way, a DW or a tub or even a plasma TV with a built-in/media job.

But I would make sure the cost of the freebie is in the bid.

As in, don't give away anything for "free." You can call it that, just make sure you're covered.

It's called a price leader in the retail business. You sell something at a low price then make your money on the other things, same princible I guess.

Perfect word. It's a hook. Something to get you in the door. regardless how you deal with the free diswasher, the goal is to have people call you. They may end up saying no to your proposal when you are $500 higher than the other guy. They may end up not calling anyone else. Who cares so long as it drums up qualified leads!

I've always done this to some degree, but I've began pushing it in my most recent marketing. "Buy 3 windows and the 4th window is FREE."

I'll be printing up about 1K post cards and mailing them out to a few older developments around here. I'll let you know the results.
