Has Anyone Had Any Luck Making A Contractor Guild

I have been thinking about trying to put a contractor guild together and was wondering if it is worth my time to do it.

I think about getting a group of contractor from different fields who put some sort of advertising (probably a half page or page list) that lists all of the other contractors who are members of the guild and their speciality. This hand out would go to all of the customers from all of the companies.

I think this might be a cheap way to generate additional lead flow. And, they should be good leads because they have already done business with someone on the list.

Any thoughts?

we have been talking about this here for a bit, the hardest part is finding the time to get together when we are all scrambling to keep on step ahead of the game. I think that banding together is a great idea, and anything that puts anyone in front of a perspective client is good.

Problem is finding other guys as reliable as you..

I have an electrician, a plumber and HVAC guys that I refer people to all the time.. However I am on my 3rd electrician now since the previous ones don't seem to return phone calls..

How do you know these guys when they go out will reliably refer you?

I have a network of contractors I refer to people who need plumbing / electrical / HVAC work. Usually the guy you gave a lead to will slide a Guinness in front of you Friday night at the local pub, or Monday morning at the "Start of the Week liquid buffet".
