Has Anyone Else Seen The Yellow Pages On Cd-rom

I was sent a copy of the Oklahoma City phone book on cd-rom (ATT).It may be sooner than I thought when the big books get phased out.Maybe less than 5 years. It's really going to give the businesses towards the front an even larger advantage since it's quite like the .com listings, except you can't look at web-sites or contact from that page.Everything else is eerily familiar.I've bein page 2 of att,and yellowbook.com for a year and haven't gotten 6 calls between the two of them.I for one and not looking forward to the change from paper, hopefully I'm wrong and the books will be around a while.
My business has only bein on the north side here for 7 months ,so I will still need a few years of heavy advertising and networking to build the business before I can ween myself from the big dollar ads.The books work real well for me,I hope I don't have to change the business plan sooner than anticipated.I'm starting to look into Google adwords ,which seems to be popular on CT.

Who would use a YP cd-rom when you could just use Google?

I have received one of those for the past 5 years. Its too big to permanently load onto the PC, and its a hassle to search on it. Its easier to grab the book and flip through it, or like he ^^^ said, Google it. Mine end up as temporary coasters, then are put into the circular file.

That is a point, but I still have the phone book on my desk and in my trucks. There are folks that do like the lay-out of the big books and having many options in one field of view. It's a trip seeing the big book on a disc, for sure.
