Footbridge Site Rank Not Even In The Top 100,000!

well i was just about to go with footbridge media for my home repair/painting biz.
so i decided to run their site through alexa site ranking, and its no where to be found!
sooo.. why should i hire them to optimize my site when they cant even rank their own site very high?

Not bad at all considering the fierce competition for those keywords.

What exactly are you looking for when searching for footbridgemedia? Their marketing is targeted towards marketing for contractors, so looking for them under relative search terms is what you should do.

I will tell you this. My site ranks VERY high for a lot of relative search terms and keywords that I target without any interference from me. I get over 600 visitors per month and probably 10-15 leads without lifting a finger, and only using a limited yahoo ppc camaign.

I think you are psyching yourself out of a good marketing decision. They have done nothing but wonders for me....and that's in all honesty. I couldn't be happier.

i dont know why its not in the top 100,000.
im not sure how all this works.
maybe im wrong about them, everything that ive heard about them has been positive.

btw, about how long does it take to start getting calls after my site goes up?

Oh, that's just a traffic ranking. It means not many people visit the site. There's not exactly an enormous market for building websites just for contractors. I wouldn't worry about the Alexa ranking one bit, especially after reading the positive feedback on them.

Once you call of of your friends and family to tell them about your new site, you will get calls from them telling you that they checked it out and it looks great. Customers will never call unless you promote your site....site signs, ppc, business cards............................

Not so much faith should be put on Alexa.
We rank at about 800,000 and its way better than almost any other paint contractor anywhere but it's just one yardstick.
There is also Google's Page rank.
I think Footbridge is good value as the guys here mentioned

Hey River Rat. When you get your site up and going and start showing up in search engines you will get traffic which will bring leads. In the meantime, you can get the site going and get going on a pay per click program and drive the traffic right away. It doesn't really take a whole long time to start seeing traffic but advertising your site will help that.

Alexa is TERRIBLE and very slanted towards tech related sites.

They measure how much traffic a site has however the way they collect their data is very flawed. They depend on people downloading and installing their Alexa Toolbar which sends back data to them. The problem with this is that typically only webmasters and advertisers have this toolbar installed.

Also, a site like Footbridge Media isn't ever going to be a high trafficed site. High traffic sites are typically news sites, forums, and other sites where the content changes daily and therefore people want to return.


Last, Alexa data is so bad that you can alter your site's ranking just by installing the toolbar yourself. ContractorTalk.com get's about 1,000,000 pageviews a month and we are ranked 131,000. For a test I installed the toolbar for about two months and my ranking shot up to 71,000. Then I uninstalled it and it went back to 131,000. Their system is very screwed up.

the very first step in any of your online marketing is KEYWORD research.

Ranking for words that people do not search for is like building a restaurant in the middle of the desert. If no one sees you... you will not be successful.

Great looking site. When did they do it for you?
Footbridge started revamping my site a few weeks ago. I wasnt showing up before, but now were showing up on yahoo and google.
We dont have great ranking yet but Its made progress.
I was wondering how long it took to get yours ranked high.

It didn't take us long to start getting traffic with footbridge. They'll get your site set up to do it's job. After that it's up to the search engines, but within a couple of months you'll be showing up everywhere. You can help by seeking out places to get inbound links to your site, but footbridge will be working that part of the SEO also.

I've said it time and again. You can't go wrong using footbridge. They will help you get your WHOLE marketing program under control.

I think its been up and running for about 9 or 10 months now. It took a couple of months to start ranking high, but it was a newly built site.

They are not only a website building company. Aaron has redone our business cards, designed door hanger, and a postcard just to name a couple of items. Also they only market for one contractor in an area per trade.

I guess this thread is why I had 127 hits the other day and only 2 estimate requests.
