Yes. I probably get 10 calls a week. I vet them and cherry pick. Because I got it like that. There are multiple outlets where customers find me. My lumberyard throws new tons off work and it's even against their policy to do so. Vendors also send work my way. Am I special? you ****ing right I am. I've spent 34 years of hard work to get here.

If I was looking to by a car and a salesman come by and said, "(your friend just bought a car from, I will sell you a car that I don't yet have, but you will really like this one, it's just what you want, sign right here, and give me a deposit, and I give you 10% discount)"

Would I do it?? HEEL NO!!!!

Would you???

Is that how you operate??
your example makes no sense at all. If you you've been looking to buy a Toyota Tacoma for the past year, you wanted one super bad, had the money for it, knew exactly what model color ect you wanted but just haven't went out to buy one yet because you haven't had time and don't want to deal with a salesman you don't trust and...

You got a flyer with your neighbor on it saying they just bought a car from this company and the experience was awesome, the sales guy was super nice and not pushy at all, I usually hate going to car lots because I don't want to deal with the sales people and the back and forth but this place was just awesome, I'm super happy and if anyone's going to buy a car go here. AND THEN

on that same flyer there's an irresistible offer for a Toyota Tacoma they have for sale right now, the same model you want, the same color you want, every single feature you want and its well within your budget..

your telling me you wouldn't respond to that ad? if you say no your completely full of it.

Of course stuff goes in the trash and doesn't get looked at. the goal isn't to convince people that don't want it to do it, the goal is to find the couple people who want exactly what your offering.

I'm looking to buy a new home right now. Were looking for a one story about 2500sqft or so but with a couple acres of property in a specific area.

if someone sent me a flyer for an apartment for rent down the street of course I would just throw it away instantly but if someone sent my a flyer for a one story house about 2500sqft with property in the area I wanted. I'm definitely going to reply to that.

Do you see how completely wrong and how little you actually know?

Again if your not looking to grow this thread isn't for you.

Re: Fool Proof Way To Land More Jobs Around Your Current Job.

It's funny, there was a guy on JLC years ago that had a much better approach. He would walk the neighborhood he was working in with a company letterhead with contact info. If you find any debris, poor parking, people speeding on the road from project at ***xx please call my personal cell. He would spend years in certain neighborhoods. It was the customers/job that sold not salesmen.

Around here good contractors are all but impossible to get unless you can wait 6 - 12 months. If you have the manpower you can sell anything right now. I'm booked out a year plus with myself and 3 carpenters. I turn down double the work we get done in a year. I could have 15 guys and make a killing if I could find them. I've hired at top wages for 5 years and gotten 1 good guy. I was told by a self proclaimed cabinet maker "we are too fussy" and he left in 6 months.

Dean any proof or are you just insulting people from your moms basement?

whatever works.. there's multiple ways to do stuff. I get people reaching out to me also those are cool but I also go out and make business happen instead of waiting around for it to fine me so some people need to be nudged to make a yes or no decision.

Who have I insulted? I posted a valuable thread that everyone started tolling. If you don't want to grow your business why are you replying to this thread?

What are you talking about? Why do you keep deflecting and creating these arguments that no one is making.

What I am telling you is I want proof of your claims. I want to know what company you work for, website address and some pics of your projects. Your math has not yet added up.

You talk about 50k income and 25k average projects. They wouldn't have that kind of money and financing wouldn't get approved.

If you want to play with the big boys, you need to put on your big boy pants and prove it. Stop hiding behind this BS that you think I am going to do something to you. Otherwise you are all talk and getting boring.

Most of those are in decline. Online media such as Facebook and Instagram are the future (at least for the next 3-5 years). People don't look for remodeling companies in direct mail ads. Not that you can't get leads through DM, but for most part there are much better returns in other media.

Google adwords are a hit and miss. You have to have a target and $$$.

SEO is the best ROI. At least local organic SEO. Takes some time, but you never have to pay for an ad, keyword.

People spending money on something isn't proof in and of itself that it works, just that they think it works. Touches are hard to measure.

Every one on this forum can show our work without issue, but you? That's where your credibility falls flat.

You arrogance is another thing that blinds you.

You aren't telling anyone how to grow. You are telling them that you are a high pressure cookie cutter sales person. You have provided nothing more than a give to get scheme that generates leads. The only process you have released is generic and unhelpful.

This attitude of, hey, if you want to stay small, if you don't want to grow, if you don't want more money...when people simply disagree that your method would work all of the time anywhere selling anything is working against you.

Your bringing up stuff that I already covered. Your only intention of these threads is to get then closed.

Yes people get approved for financing everyday. AND they don't have to pay once cent towards the project besides the deposite for 18 full months

EDIT: Fixed this one for you as well.

People who make 50k a year don't get approved for 25k. Especially with no money down and no payments for 18 months, unless you are charging credit card rates, which is not what legit contractors do. They don't allow their clients to purchase things that they cannot afford.

Why can't you at least post pics of the projects you have sold? You have a book of a 100 testimonials with pics. Show us a few.

My biggest question here is if you guys say you don't need marketing and to sell stuff because you have people calling you left and right. Then why are you on a sales and marketing forum for contractors?

I am on a contractor forum in the marketing section.

Why are you here if you don't want to prove you do what you say you do? The proof is in the pudding. Show us the pudding. Why do you feel the need to show your clients your work to prove you can produce what you promise, but not to us.

Until you do, we will think just like them, you are a fraud.

I think what he's failing to understand is These times right now are fat. There's plenty of work and that much effort isn't warranted. It shows just how green he really is. As Rob was saying he doesn't know what he doesn't know.
