I can't relate, but I'm open to learning and or discussing as professionals. But not name calling. Meh, that's just me, I want to keep things civil, but it's too tiring.

Ok, fine.

Are you willing to share the contractor (s) you work for, so we can check out your claims of happy customers and good work, etc?

How big is the job to put a price in 15 min and you making 3k commission for 2hrs?

So if you work 8 hrs a day you can close at least 2 jobs lets say on the average per day.

Let's say your commission is $500 per job closed (figure 10% commission base with a 5k average job)

$1000 per day x 5 days = 5k a week x 4 = 20k a month x 12 = 240k a year roughly speaking.

Now if we take average job of 5k which is probably taking out a wall and putting in a structural beam not counting sheetrock, painting, kitchen cost plus install so per se lets bump your average sale to 10k which will double your commission that will put you @480k per year and making this type of money you in here promoting your BS and nothing to show for?

What planet are you living on to believe that anyone here believes one word you saying? I'm not even gonna mention that you did not show a single proof or a single job you did or sold, not a single picture and you trying to push this BS on the guys in here who been in the construction industry, doing sales, closing out jobs at their own rate, and making a good living and they did that when you were still itching in your "daddies balls".

It's time for you my friend to meet ByGetta in Brooklyn Term, and in our term meaning By Getta FK Out Of Here with your BS.

You thinking that kind of money is anything special just shows how small you really are. My average ticket is about 25k. Some are lower some are higher but that's average.

That's not what he said. For such a self proclaimed genius, your reading comprehension could use some help.

So basically what your telling me is you've tried the two step flyer process, the same exact one I wrote about in the original post, you tried that and it didn't work and that's why you think my methods don't work, is that right?

Guess what happens with flyers in my mail??

Let me help you with that, "TRASH CAN"

Anytime a pushy salesman, (like you remind me of) I will go out of my way to avoid them, and spend more to go with the competition,

That said most of my subs are small businesses, never had luck with companies that send a salesman or estimater.

So there is absolutely no way I will run my business that way!!

They go to the front door not the mail. With that said that's just how advertising works. Theres always a percentage that go straight to the trash, a percentage that people look at and then go to the trash, a percentage that people look at and save, and a percentage that resonates with people and they take action on it.

Obviously if someones not looking to remodel they don't care about it but if someone IS then they take action on it assuming you know how to put a irresistible offer on it that gets them to take action.

By your logic then all direct mail, billboards, tv commercials, Facebook ads, google ad words, seo and every other advertising method that businesses spend thousand of dollars on, non of those work because most people that see it ignore it right?

The bottom line is you've never done it so you really don't know. Mabye you sent out something from vista print that said "I'm the best, get a free estimate now!" but you've never send out a flyer campaign the right way.

I'm not saying you have to run your business that way a lot of contractors are fine staying small and not growing. Nothing wrong with that. The advice I gave is more for people who want to get more jobs and grow.

I can tell you it's not hard to do two jobs a month and put 20k in my pocket. I don't need to initiate any sell. They come to me. I spend zero in advertisement. In fact I turn down more work than I do. I haven't advertised in 14 years. I like my way better.

If I was looking to grow I'd just accept the jobs I turn down. That's my point. I can be as big as I want without spending a dime to advertise.

You gave no advice.

You mentioned hangers on the door. What the hell is special about that?

So far all you have done is reiterate what is already known about hard-sell smash & grab jockeys.

In other words, contractors here - actually anybody that has a front door - already know how your "system" works.

It's not yours, and it's not unique or novel or unknown.

I have no problem with advertising, I have not advertised in years, I could double or even triple the size of my business, I just can't fine the man power of qualified help, and I will not hire just anybody,

Especially if you drop a flyer at my door will I throw it out,

If I was looking to by a car and a salesman come by and said, "(your friend just bought a car from, I will sell you a car that I don't yet have, but you will really like this one, it's just what you want, sign right here, and give me a deposit, and I give you 10% discount)"

Would I do it?? HEEL NO!!!!

Would you???

Is that how you operate??

If you were doing millions and millions you wouldn't need to be trying to pitch yourself on an internet forum to a bunch of people you never met. I was born at night just not last night.
