Feng Shui

Most designers build with climate but is Feng Shui important in your spec house plans?

Not specifically.
But design is important.

Re: Feng Shui

If you are building spec homes, definitely read a book on it. A lot of it amounts to what we would call "good feel";"charming";"attractive". Example 90 degree corner jutting into a room is bad feng shui. Entryways should "flow" etc. etc. Women go for that stuff. Women buy houses. A lot of it is nonsense like keep the lid down on the toilet so the good luck won't drain out of the house.(on the other hand, my luck hasn't been that good lately) (I think the correct pronunciation is "fung shway")

Re: Feng Shui

In my short business life as a painting contractor(1yr) I've had two women bring this up! They wanted all doors painted in dark hues! I have to mention that they where both single, and probably have too much time on their hands! But give them what they want, and they will pay you in payments!LOL

Re: Feng Shui

I helped my wife's cousin move into their new house, actually they put on a major addition but it was basically a whole new house.

Anyways as we were moving her furniture into her master bedroom, she keps refrencing fung shuei... "That's not good fung shuei... this, that." Blah, screw all that malarkey! She wanted us to fit 20'x20' worth of furniture into a 15'x15' room. Years of tetris playing had me skilled up for the challenge, but none of it was fung shuei. Take half that crap and put it in your garage was my last piece of advice before walking away to help another group move rather than stand around wasting time discussing fung shuei.
