Re: Facebook Marketing

OK, so it seems that the business page IS the "fan page."
Thanks, I'll get on it when I have some spare time.

So the method that Quality Counts uses is actually a violation of FB TOS. You are not supposed to use a personal page for a business. If it becomes found by FB, they will delete it. All the time it took you to create the page and all of your friend connections will be gone.
I am unable to find where it says that I am not allowed to create a page for my business. Please show me.
Also, if it does state that, there are numerous friends and companies that have a biz page and it clearly states that in their name. Besides, I can change the name on either of my profiles to whatever name I choose. On my personal profile, I do not have my last name displayed. Everything else is true and visible/ up to date, for anyone who is my friend to see. There are thousands of people who use an alias throughout every social network that I am a member. Some of these people are titled (royal) and choose not to go by HRH, etc, ad nauseum and for good reason. They are not, however, marketing themselves. I am, but only to the people who choose to accept my connection request and even so, I would never go on their profiles and start spamming them. If, for some reason, they feel uncomfortable with the thought that that might happen, they are free to not only disconnect, but to block.
So, with that aside, I hope that all businesses use a social media platform to market themselves. It's free to join, you may get a hit, and if nothing else, you make a lot of new connections that you can ask questions

Facebook is a great way to instantly connect with your customers.
We can also share updates such as " Freeze Warning In Central Florida "

It works really well.

BTW, I have done exactly this. I do not have my real name on my FB account. No Spilotro can track me down either! Besides, if I haven't talked to someone in 20 years, I really have no need to start talking to them now.
When I first set my FB up I was worried about using my real name so I just split up my user name Lead Arrows like that and had no problem using it. Then later I changed it to my real name.
I like the idea of using FB for my business more that for friends. Maybe they need to set up one just for business's. If I knew how I think I would do it myself. If any of you use this idea, after you become a billionaire, if you would just throw a couple of million my way I would appreciate it.....lol

I know a country music artist that uses the fan page to promote his new songs and it seems to work very well for him. That's his business ..a business is a business. I don't see where it say's you can't use a fan page from your personal account for your business. Seems to me it would be easier than using multiple accounts anyway....but I am still new to all of this....

Re: Facebook Marketing

When setting up a Facebook page, it's asks you whether it's a personal or business page. I think the rules are pretty loose as long as you're not harassing, stalking, spamming, or doing anything else that is illegal.
There are thousands of business pages on FB all over the world. I highly doubt that FB is going to delete them, because the advertisers that are on the right side of your screen and are marketing to them specifically and it'd take gosh knows how many hours deleting all those profiles.

Everybody is doing it

Thank you so much my friend!

Yeah, we actually just put out an advertisement for our page and we got 20 new members in like 15 hours. Try it and see if it works for you...your status updates on your Facebook page are really interesting too. I liked the "clean pool" and "green pool"

Yep, we try to keep our page and blog full of humor too

I almost uploaded a pic of snake in skimmer basket today, but Im afraid that would gross people out. There is a lot of " creatures " here in Florida.

Definately going to use Facebook Advertising (PPC) to drive traffic to the FB, Website, and Blog. Thanks again for the blog post.

Yes! Put that up there! That would be so funny!

By the way, if you haven't already...give your fb page a customized URL.

You can do that when you have over 25 members. go to facebook.com/username and change your page name. I couldn't tell if you had already

I was also thinking about adding a " swimming pool background " to the page.

Does anyone know how to do this ?

We just downloaded 2 free apps from Involver.com which allows us to merger our Blog, Twitter and YouTube tabs to our Facebook page.

Real cool stuff as we are working on an awesome landing page.

Re: Facebook Marketing

I have had a Facbook fan page to promote my business for almost a year now, but I don't have a formal business website. Facebook has become so popular so quickly do you think it is necessary to build a separate website?
