End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
I'm tired of doom and gloom ...
Stepping out the front door with a signed contract has got to be one of the most exhilerating feelings we get, at least during the sales process. Who is selling and what does it mean to you. Tell us about it... |

Re: End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
I'll start. Today I signed a contract for $22k. Its a simple roof renovation/repair of another contractors flat roof addition debacle. After suffering through 4 yrs. of leaks and excuses, the homeowners gave up and asked us to help. Not the largest, challenging or profitable contracts we will see, but THE FIRST of the new callender year.
YEEEEHAAAAAW! lol The ice is broken! Good luck all! |

Today I was asked for submittal information on a brick job that I have been fighting for against a tailgate (jackleg) supplier. 550,000 brick. At my price, not his. Let's dance!

Re: End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
Put a contract in the mail box at my shop yesterday morning before I went out to look at another job and came back in the afternoon and it was signed and a deposit was waiting in an envelope....I hate that when that happens, I could smile a bit but no dancing for that one....don't get me wrong every job counts.....

I always rejoice when that first one of the year is out of the way! Nice to not even have to "press the flesh" so to speak, to close the deal. Congrats!

Nothing yet this year.
However I'm not blaming anyone but myself - have to get off of my butt - the holidays are over, you know

Re: End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
While I don't sell anymore it makes me feel really good have seen a new salesmen I hired this year continually walk into the office with new contracts. In the last quarter of 2007 he has sold 350k in gross sales, he's a happy camper and so am I! What makes him happy about selling these contracts is that he gets to help people navigate the claims process and show the clients how much thier insurance company tried to screw them for.

Re: End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
I got a call from an home owner on the 3'rd i think it was, ends up he found me through my website via "austintown roofer" and after examing his roof nad exchanging fax's i put my first job of the year on the books.
Its only one job but being that the last of last years work will be done with in the next 4 weeks or so "depending on weather" it was a welcomed job.

Re: End Zone Dancing.... For The Salesman In All Of Us.
There is no better feeling then signing a new job! I seem to only do about 8 jobs a year so i might go a few months without signing anything. Sometimes i start to think "do i have what it takes to sign another one?" and then bam another good one falls into my lap.
We still have over 125k in work to complete from 07. Then we have about 400-500k in potential work from either repeat customers or referals that we need to get people to start pulling the trigger on. |
