Does My Site Look Like I Install Or Service Pools???

Guys,

Almost every week someone calls and asks if I either:

1-sell
2-install
3-repair
SWIMMIN POOLS!

Most of the conversations start with, I noticed your website...

I know my last name is Poole. I don't know if I need to start a brand of pools with the "e" at the end or what??

How do you get I do anything with pools from my website?? Am I missing some invisible sign or logo on my site or maybe my forehead??

Any suggestions?

Nobody reads past the headlines
anymore.

You need to change your name,
or start selling pools!

Re: Does My Site Look Like I Install Or Service Pools???

My suggestion would be to put "Poole" into some kind of creative font. That way it looks like a name and not a description. Do you know any graphic designers that can help you out?

Noticed this on your main page,

About

Poole Construction is your connection to total home improvement and maintenance.

Why not like your beginning sentence on your "Why Us?" page?

Before the job "Duane Poole" that might make it clear that you're the company owner (just a thought).

Nice clean website too

Doing a quick keyword search on Google, it appears that 880 people on average every month mispell the word pool. If you type in poole construction your website is the first listing in the organic search on the first page.

If you had a company that sold pools nationwide, it appears you would do well. About how many calls per month do you get looking for pools? Wait till you see how much it starts increasing in the spring time lol.

Start installing and servicing pools or hook up with someone that does.

I'll bet if you changed the color scheme and got away from the blue, and put something like this at the top it would cut down on the calls. My .02

Sorry about the size.

In this economy & the web stats listed above - WHY ARE YOU NOT installing, servicing, or repairing swimming pools? Another division with an already established web presence - sold

You might want to change the Blue portions of your main page to another color, but with that name

I've never thought of doing anything with pools or "pooles" for that matter you sicko's! (I do live in the 315 though) but I might just change my attitude and link up with a local pool installer.

I'm also reassured that there's no hidden text only I couldn't see that said I really did install pools.

Re: Does My Site Look Like I Install Or Service Pools???

Duane, I explained above. About 880 searches every month from all over the country are for "Poole Construction". That means 880 nitwits are looking for "Pool Construction" but cant spell. Your website shows up right at the top when people make this mistake.

If you want to help fix this, Alter the Title tags on all your pages to say something different than "POOLE CONSTRUCTION~ABOUT". The search engines are picking that up. What you should have for example should be something like this.

home improvement | general contractor | serving central ny *NEVER USE MORE THAN 70 CHARACTERS*

Looking at the source code from your page, it looks like you can expand on your description tags a bit. Do something like this: A Central NY General Contractor providing high quality affordable home improvements

After your done with the first page then make custom title tags, and a description for each page of your site, and you should fix your pool problem.

His problem has nothing to do with the header. He's bringing in the wrong customers to his site, because of the way it's optimized.

If they are calling there is obviously a requirement out there, so make use of the calls, don't turn them away. Start doing some of the work they are asking for, it can't be that hard, take advantage of the leads you are getting.

This country is full of people who can't spell and are functionally illiterate. Your site is clearly a swimming "poole" construction site to them. Fortunately even in this economy illiterates can still make enough money to get a swimming "poole". Find a really good pool contractor and sell referrals to him because they are going to keep calling until you change your company name regardless of how you graphically represent it.

How much do you charge to install a normal size pool? Nothing fancy, just something me and the kids can relax in on hot summer days...
