There is no money problem in america ,its were people want to spend there money.Thats the truth. I have been a contractor for 30yrs ,times are tough, or are they. NOT. I can not get an estimate to save my soul in this day. So i tried craigslist ,but not looking for contrating work, i did try to put many ads for kitchens bathrooms etc, but nothing.So i went back to my roots when i was a kid, i painted hotrods with my brother for many years,so i put an ad in craigslist for bodywork and painting, i am now booked for 2 months ,just swampped with old 55 chevys and such, guys are spending thousands on there cars but wont spend a dim on there home, economy problem . NO there is none,go to a bulls game its packed,go to a hockey game packed ,football packet ,get my drift,

I am phasing out lead services. Sure I try new ones but they just keep getting worse and worse. I will use lead servives when things get slow or if I start up another service offering. Other than that I am better off spending my monies elsewhere. I spent $36k on advertising in 2008 and got a little over 1300 leads.

ready for this? 65% of those leads might have just went in the trash. No call back, no response what so ever from 65% of our leads.

Having said that, I am actually still very very thrilled at our cost per sale being only a fraction of the industry average. But I am still looking for ways to get it down! 65% shrink, OUCH!

Lead services have their role, but you can no longer count on them nor be loyal to them since they are not loyal to any of us.

I've been procrastinating about a lead service.....forever. I will not try Service Magic since most people here have had bad experiences. I've been stalked by Reliable Remodeler, but haven't joined yet. I will join next week RenovationExperts, part of "Bob Vila" contractors...just because you can pre-arrange your leads and pay for as much as you like. For example, you can start with 6 leads per month ($200 total), and then they send you leads daily and you only pick the ones you want, until you reach your 6 limit. They said that they always verify the leads prior to sending, so that you will not have the problems with homeowners not answering, wrong phone nr..etc...
Guess will give it a try. Anybody heard of these guys before?
