Re: Coroplast Signs

Do you think that you can make your own signs cheaper? If so you must only value your time a pennies a day. Look at the bulk rates.

Re: Coroplast Signs

Short version of a long story. I worked for a lady who wrote ads and mailed them, she would sort them in a way that the post office would give her a lower cost to mail. She would only charge the customers the regular postage cost plus 1 cent (on top of the per ad price). She had a Asian restaurant that ordered 10,000 and wanted to do the postage on their own......they thought they could stick the ad in an envelope affix a stamp, address the envelope for less than 1 cent!

Do you own a Asian restaurant?

I'm pretty sure you need a computerized cutter/plotter. That's a big investment to recoup unless you want to go into the biz of doing them.

Re: Coroplast Signs

Dont waste your time making some half azzed yard signs...it will show and reflect on this mentality.

My long time school buddy that does all of my work trucks and race car has a sign business, The equipment even used will start at $6K and go up from there for a good program with alot of fonts/stencils and ability to fine tune scanned in designs....definately not worth it for this venture.

The way things are changning, forget about coroplast and vinly. Get ahold of a bulk signage company online and get screen printed coroplast. When you buy in bulk it will save you a bunch of money and look alot nicer sicne you can get more detailed in the designs. If it were'nt for my hook-up I would have done this a long time ago. But I get everything I need for free or horse trading so the coroplast and vinyl work our fine....but knowing what I know about the signage biz...your better off doing screen print unless you have a connection. Just dont try to be a tight azz and have it reflect in your signage...I'm having this sick feeling watching a guy rumage through Wal-Mart picking up boat regisration letters/numbers and laying them out on the coroplast.

As far as buying bulk coroplast...look for a local company that sells plexiglass and they can get it in sheets for you if you want to cut it yourself, otherwise to have them cut it is very cheap and worth every penny...then you just have to find a hook up for step stakes that are worth a crap, I'm finally getting switched over to realtor type signage even though it's costing me money to set it up, the end result is well worth it.
