Construction Companies e-mail list

Does anyone knows what is the best way to get an e-mail list of Construction Companies. I own a Commercial Cleaning Service and we do Post Construction Clean Up. I have an e-mail marketing set up but I need to provide e-mail addresses.
Thanks for your help

Google construction companies in your area, Or home builders. gather up all thier emails and send them an introduction letter.

So you're getting ready to spam a bunch of contractors?

A&V, your email marketing campaign is going to tank.

I love email marketing, I think it's personally the best tool your website can use. It has the highest ROI of any other system of marketing, it's quick, it's easy, it's unlimited and free.

But this is the prime example of email marketing gone horribly wrong, the way not to do things.

The number one, absolute most hardcore rule in email marketing, is it HAS TO BE PERMISSION MARKETING!

If they haven't agreed to receive mail from you, then they are going to bin it right away because it looks like spam. Go with your post card campaign.

I would agree that email is a bad idea here. Why not mailing a letter of introduction, possibly followed up by a phone call?

By the way, if you do a mailer, no matter how up to date you think your list is, expect about 20% of the mail to come back to you due to the company moving or going out of business.

Thank you for all the replies. I am adding an option to unsuscribe if they want to. That way it may not feel like a spam. I will let you know how is going once I have it up and going.
My mailing marketing is going out anyway whitch it's working very well for my janitorial services. I send it every other month and as I get some back I update the list I heared once that for someone to remember your business, they need to see your name at least 8 times. Well I am almost there.
Thanks again.

I fully agree with J on this. An unsubscribe option on something they never agreed to in advance is still spam. It is VERY IMPORTANT that email is NOT your first form of contact. It's an easy way to blow it before you get to first base.

Well played CBS, well played.

I would of said it a lot harsher, like "Dude, your spamming them. And not only are you not going to get any positive responses, they will probably tell all their contractor friends to ignore you too. Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes spam. And unsolicited, univited email = SPAM. With or without unsubscribe links"

But you had a much better way to say it than me, so I'm not gonna say a word
