Comparing Lead Companies

I am looking to sign on with a lead company, to help generate work , i am tossed up between reliable remodeler, and my free estimates. both are near the same price, unless there is someone better.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

I have used Reliable Remodler, Service Magic, Sunroom Tree, QuinStreet and a few others I cannot think of right now. Service Magic was so so, Sunroom Tree used to be really good but last few months alot of "Mickey Mouse" leads. Reliable Remodeler, I have used for a few months, not bad so far, not much quantity. QuinStreet is 100% trash.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

I've never used a lead company before, but they are definitely quite valuable for this kind of work. All you need is for a few leads to convert into customers for you to get a nice ROI.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

Neither one gets my vote, we canned both of them.

See if ABC Leads has leads in your area, they seem to fly under the radar when it comes to complaints. I have never bought a lead from them but I sell them leads.

They have the details on their website. I just called them and asked how much they are willing to pay and they asked a bunch of questions and they came up with a price. Their biggest concern was how long it took from when I got the lead until I was able to deliver it to them (they sell them real time).

I was offered almost twice as much from a couple other lead companies but I will not sell my leads to shady companies. It's not a bad deal, I reinvest the money back into my site.

Just replacement windows and doors. If you are looking into reselling leads, commission junction dot com have a ton of ways to make money from your website. Some of the hosting companies pay $100 per sign up. One of the home improvement lead companies were offering $10 or $15 if someone clicks on an ad on your site and signs up for a lead.

I'm not in business to sell leads, I'm just helping homeowners find a contractor(s) and making a few dollars as a bonus.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

I found something new that you guys might want to try.. realreferences.com this is free, so no risk. they send out
requests for references to your existing customers. I get a reminder each month from them that allows me to securely post my new customers & they send out requests for the references for me and ask my customers to give me a great review & then post the review on their site. it took me a little while to figure out how it works, but I just signed up and I already have 3 really good reviews from the first months emails. then when someone asks me for a refernce I give them my profile on this site. paving sucks a$$ right now, so anything thats free helps. at least these guys arent trying to tell me how they have the best leads. I've used service magic & a bunch of others like renovation experts and bidclerk. they suck. I'd rather have someone say good things about me and then send the customer to my website that way the lead is fresh and not sold to 10 other pavers...

last year i bought a "fresh" lead from one of these lead companies and when i got their to do an estimate, H&H paving was loading up their equipment after finishing.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

If a company resells leads multiple times those leads become nearly worthless.

No, just the ones that are outside of my service area. Selling the ones that I didn't sell would be sort of shady.

I'm curious, where you geta fixed rate per lead...do they retain the ability to get their money back in the event the lead turns out to be bogus?
I have the same trouble...leads all over hell n' creation, but I'm not about to start spending the time calling every one to verify them.

Yeah, they get a refund for bad leads. If not I could make them up all day

I'm not sure what people are paying for plumbing leads. Most if not all of the lead services will buy your leads. Try not to do business with the ones that everyone complaints here.

Excursion,

How are you generating your current leads? Without the lead generators.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

This is how servicemagic works. Lets say there are 50 contractors that signed up for a zip code.
Out of those 50, 10 offer roofing. (Each contractor can decide how many leads they want per month).
Each roofing lead that servicemagic gets they send it to every roofing contractor in that zip that hasn't reached their limit. So maybe 5 contractors will give a bid, but only 1 will get it. But from most contractors experiences, most customers just want an estimate, and are not really serious about getting it done. But that is still considered a valid lead. So you just paid $50 to bid on a job.

Re: Comparing Lead Companies

Well I believe in getting my own leads! Why not you?

Put togeather a small marketing blitz and do it yourself. It's not that hard as long as you do it right and have a graphics person put it togeather for you.

There are so many ways to get leads but most contractors fall short because it does take an effort and they stop and start there marketing.

Put it on auto pilot and do not touch it. Put a $$ value on it every month and then let it go. It will work if you do not touch it.

I have done $500 a month to $25,000 a month and it works as long as you stay committed. Good Luck
