Commercial Handyman Marketing

Is there a list out there of nationwide commercial maintenance companies?

The reason I ask is we have been doing a ton of little projects all over for a handful of companies and it's getting to the point that if I had another handful of companies calling for work to be performed I could create a division for this.

These companies are obviously finding me on the web and that is good but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for me targeting them for work instead of vice versa.

Check out these threads. Most of the nationwide maintenance companies that we work with are out of New York and New Jersey with a few in Florida. We have found that NET 30-45 "really meens" NET 60 so be aware of that and charge accordingly.....

Re: Commercial Handyman Marketing

My experience in the past had been many times paid on completion, but with corporate owned franchises 60 days to 90 days.
The worst was Pizza Hut 120 days, and AMF theatres chain about 4 to5 months.

Many times it was health requirements like chipped countertops or cracked tile, remove and replace caulk. Easy work and low material costs.

Good news is if you can afford to bill out they won't even call the lowballers.

Best on my list was Allina Medical and Health East. Best paying and money in 45 days.
Stopped doing these jobs but I wish I didn't because there really was no competition to speak of.

Re: Commercial Handyman Marketing

I also want to get into the commercial side of maintenance. I want monthly lawn maintenance and repairs. I'm looking for a monthly steady income to supplement my current repair work.

I'm talking about retail strip malls, industrial parks, office buildings, apartment complexes, etc.

How do I get through the corporate barriers? How do you market? Who do you talk to?

Thanks
