Adwords And Organic Listings
Anyone whos making money on adwords and yahoo search lets hear your numbers. Besides Goerge I know he has had great success. How many estimates and how many calls are you getting a week. Do you use generic words or do you do local?

98% of my marketing is through organic results... and pay-per click.
Obviously I work in a few different industries... but let's look at the basement waterproofing and foundation repair industry... obviously a pretty niche industry... as compared to other types of home improvement... This month so far.... 587 leads in their local area 1338 out of their coverage area 831 of these referred out to other companies across the country 507 that are wasted leads until we develop companies to take them. PPC Budget per month = $7,000 My Costs - astronomical... the final result - priceless (sorry i couldn't resist)

I assume that the 831 are sold for a nice little profit that might cover part of your pricetag? Do you compete with others in your trade to see who can produce the most leads at the lowest lead cost? I would make tee-shirts saying "the $11.92 Guy".

Last month was 519 leads (obviously the rains have helped with our numbers)... so far that has turned into 440 appts.... 401 quoted jobs... 164 sales... 1.15 in gross sales.
They look more at the average dollar generated per lead (ADL) - than the cost per lead. Obviously, cost has to be a factor - but the cheapest cost doesn't matter if the leads are not of value. From the above - the ADL is right over $2200 - which means I bring $2200 in revenue to the company for every lead that I generate.

Depending on the lead company you can fight (cost time) for lead credit on the 3 bad leads and reduce your cost to $350 per job sold. Last year I was running at $335 +/- per job sold from internet leads. However, I spent a ton of time fighting for my money. Damion, how much does you ADL vary over the course of the year?

As a whole... it might vary 20% at most depending on the time of year. THe structural jobs the company sells are higher dollar sales than the waterproofing ones. Obviously, in the springtime when it rains.. the ADL would tend to go down - but closing percentages typically go up and it balances out.
