Funny enough while doing some more research there is another company advertising for whole house remodels and they have a price of 300k and up on their google ad as well. Hmmmm

After reading your posts I emailed my web site guy and asked for an estimate to do SOE, he emails me back and says he does SEO only, wiseazz! I email him back and explained SOE is a GC term (Significant Overcharge Entries) and we expected to have some if I remodel his kitchen. I can't wait to see what this will cost.

Adwords results thus far

195 impressions
12 Clicks
8 calls for actual estimates so far

3.37 average cost per click about 25 bucks total cost.

6 leads where budgets on baths average 25k and up
2 leads for Kitchens budgets 45k and up

What do you guys think??

I chose my keywords very carefully and it is a one city local ad, I have been using adwords for about 5 years so my skill level is above average with them

The question is, have you sold a job yet from the adwords?

I know so little about keywords that it's embarrassing. I'm confused by it. I think it's time I learn what it is and find a way to make it work for me too.

swallow the blue pill and free your mind!!

It is not easy. you can spend tons of money if you are not carefull and monitor your ads progress.

But if you figure out what works and gradually taylor your ads I think it is your best form of adverstising period.

If you find it difficult hire some one to set it up for you and give it a try. Just monitor it closely at first.

I'll tell you those numbers are friggin excellent, but it seems your approach is more surgical than my shot gun approach.

Grumpy

I will admit I have a decent grasp of adwords, For a contractor anyway

Also I have good name recognition so that helps as well. I am also an honest, direct and very good salesman. I hate the term salesman but that is what we are at times.

I have closed one of these jobs this week and the owner said they like the fact that I did not mince words. I was not rude but gave realistic budgets and timelines and explained why the were realistic.

Here is a good tip that i use when I meet a homeowner owner, ask them to tell you what they think it will cost. they will actually usually be 50-75% of the way to actual cost them show them the other cost or things they forget to account for. When I add the numbers up that they gave me in front of them it usually hits the budget or their damn close, when they see the numbers they usually are impressed and convinced about actual budget cost and I am given credit for showing them reality and achieving my budget at the same time. Hope this tip helps.

I will also share everything I have done in my adwords campaign and anything else for that matter that will help or enlighten my fellow contractors
if they want the info.
