Advertising-Just My Web Address On My Truck

I advertise just my website address on the company van-no phone number. Should I go back to the traditional way?

What has worked for you?

Why not put both on?

I see no reason to force someone to get on a computer, log on to the net, type in your web site, just to find your phone number.

people remember websites more and if they are close enough to your name in the search they will typically find you. Numbers are harder to remember and if they are of a digit your screwed.

I don't want everyone just calling me, look at my site and decide if I am the contractor for you or not.

The thing about is-I like to try new forms of advertising. Besides, Isn't going to the website the future of marketing? In 2009 it seems, you can't do anything without a computer.

To pay bills, check bank account, to shop for stuff, etc.,as well as info for anything. The home computer is almost mandatory in today's homes. Besides-a website address is easier to memorize when speedin' by.

Name, tag line, phone number on both doors, url on bottom of liftgate. (Toyota 4runner)
Phone numbers are also good for out of work guys driving around to be able to call you and ask for work. LOL.

Name and number on trucks. Will add vinyl clings to the windows for the website.
I don't want too much to comprehend on either sign.

True, but there's still quite a market out there that's not driving on the information superhighway. These folks grew up without the 'net, and can work with numbers a lot better than kids these days. (As evidence, I point to anyone under 25 working in retail who needs to calculate your change for a $15.58 purchase and you give them $20.08)

Bingo and homeowners who are not researching and educating themselves. Just spur of the moment buying or calling. For me that does not work. May be if I sold repair services.

I sell 30K and up jobs so your not calling me out to do a heavy up or plunge a ****ty toilet.

I want them to be informed and when they call me.

True, true. I know just about as many seniors goin' on the 'net for stuff as I know that don't. Things are changing faster than we realize.

I still have my phone number and all related traditional info on my biz cards as well as my uniforms, but I am trying to corral all potential prospects to the website so I have their all-important email address for correspondence. Plus, its easier to keep track of things

Re: Advertising-Just My Web Address On My Truck

We have a number of clients who are "Internet impaired."

While we would like everyone to visit our site, we realize that forcing potential clients to jump through hoops will lose some of them. If you make it hard for someone to commuicate with you, another contractor (who doesn't) will pick them up.

If you have enough work that it doesn't matter to you ... It's your choice.
