Advertising An Home Expos
Im in Omaha Nebraska and Im thinking about putting an exbit in the Home & Graden expo this year.
My questions are: Has anyone done this? Does it generate good leads and/or work? It cost around $350.00 to get into the door (not including flyers, business cards, time ect...) So I dont want to through all this money away if it dont get a good amount of leads. What is your opinion on going to one of these? Thanks Tim Case |

Re: Advertising An Home Expos
We are at the Home Show every year here in Anchorage.
We set up a nice display area and show off whatever. We also have a drawing for an area rug or whatever. Those tickets get distributed to the sales crew, and if it's marked that they are interested in any flooring, we will give em a call. We do nicely with it. People pay money to go to these things because they are ready to buy. you just have to set yourself apart from the rest.

Re: Advertising An Home Expos
How much money are you willing to spend to attract one new customer? Ask the people at the Expo for their attendance records for the past three shows. This will give you an idea as to the total exposure you can expect. Follow Florcraft's advise as to registration cards and obtaining their primary interest and what you and your display can do to make your company stand out from the rest. The drawing is just another way to get their interest. Make sure you have nice pamphlets and hand outs along with business cards. We have found that we still get replys a year later from these shows. Rate the reply cards as to urgency and timing, but in all cases follow up with phone calls at later dates. You can also use this information to develop a mailing list for future contacts. Refer to the old selling "Rule of 7's". The greatest return or closed sales comes with an effort of up to seven contacts (ie phone, face-to-face, mailers, demos, etc). By all means start making preparations to participate in your Expo. You only need one or two sales to make this worthwhile and you are getting exposure to the people who are interested. This is your chance to come across as a professional in your industry.
Good luck. Crankshaft |
