Re: Siding "shouse"

Chief Architect. (CA)

ScipioAfricanus is one of the masters of CA on this site. I only use it to get the 3D model figured out, then I export to .dwg.

A shop/home has been something I am interested in so I will enjoy seeing your progress. ICF is awesome. I was the framer on a 12" thick ICF home. Every window was a "window seat" almost.

I was thinking that an ICF shop main floor would be easy to secure and make it harder for intruders to gain access to the upper floor without a ladder...(and that can be mitigated too)

Wish you all the best!

Take it you will be using a pumper truck to pour that.

Re: Siding "shouse"

I'm going to get a conveyor truck to pour it, it'll reach and it's cheaper.

Thought you might find this of interest. A shouse close to me. The bottom is panels from Bridger Steel. Middle is 12" steel bat and board with 8" steel lap siding on top, both from Alside.

Re: Siding "shouse"

Ya that's kind of what I have in mind. I get a lot of metal from Bridger, I try to push it for roofs cause I don't like laying shingles.

Poured the walls Friday, planning to pour the slab next Friday. Stand by for pictures!

First time using ICFs, I was impressed with them.

Re: Siding "shouse"

I wanted to be pouring the slab today, but it's been raining all week. Weather says it'll be nice this weekend so I'll get it formed up and pour that next week hopefully.

Well once you get that poured you will be good to go. Hopefully we don't have any snow or cold weather for a while yet.

Thank you!

Ya let me know that'd be cool to meet.

Sheridan is nice, I used to work out of Whitehall and we were all over down there, Twin Bridges, Virginia City, Ennis.

Mill creek just out of Sheridan was a favorite sleddin spot.

Re: Siding "shouse"

Are you getting this rain up there? Rained all day here, planned to sheet a roof and get it dried in but it turned into an errand running/paperwork day.

It's been raining a lot lately, I've got homeowners chompin at the bit......I'm crossing my fingers for better weather. Ha ha
