Question

Re: Shaper & Router Profile Chart....

What version would you recomend and what am I looking at.. ??$$ Can I cut from the publisher document.. and then past it into Coral - ? Each one of those profiles are individual components and not merged together... I did that so I could adjust the layout accordingly this way..

what say you>?>

thanks...

I don't have Publisher, but I don't think that would stop me.

Just send me any old smallish file, nothing you want to keep private or anything, and I'll see what I can do with it in Draw.

Re: Shaper & Router Profile Chart....

your going to need publisher to open this in order to copy and paste....

the problem is Publisher is not set up to print large banners on plot printers...the design of the program was set up for "desk tops" . it will but only up to ceratin limit.. I am way beyond that.... There is a way to save the file on another format... but the choices are limited.. postscript being one of them..ah that went no where.. not that there is not a solution ,,, and I think Coral may be a good choice....

Tin... do you have a ploter>? if not... I would be wasiting your time...you can't tell it's a sucssess until it's printed- properly.... write now.. I have a 3'x5' layout on publisher for this... turned out great.. everythign is good.... until you go to print... that's where the plot printer starts droping data.. and the plot starts from the middle of the page after it's spooled out 2' and then starts printing..even stated that date was lost every time I tried to print this...just seems like it's the totally wrong graphics file format.

And this guy Jeff from the engineering firm spit out a 30 x 50 plot using from coral.. a graphics picture... in a snap.... blew me away...

so... I can send it you but I don't know what good it would do...

let me know .... I do appreciate the help...

That's okay Brian, you waste my time anyway so I wouldn't know the difference.

No, I don't have a plotter. I thought you wanted to know if Draw could handle the files. What I would probably do is convert them to PDF, import and print.

Draw can print to whatever the printer (or plotter, in your case) driver says it's capable of. If the driver is solid (and admittedly that can be a big if sometimes), there are no problems at all. But even if it has a couple of issues, there are settings that can be tweaked to make it work anyway.

Now what I could do is install the driver for your plotter, use that with Draw to produce a PRN file, and send that back to you for actual printing. Or you could just scratch around and find a good deal on a non-current version of Draw. They're out there.

Going back a few posts, I doubt you'd have a lot of luck trying to copy/paste between Publisher and Draw. They have totally different native formats, and though there are sometimes ways to work around that, it can be pretty to deal with.

Re: Shaper & Router Profile Chart....

Exactly Tin. A pdf file. Ditch the publisher stuff.

It's basically a CAD file printed to pdf. Tin doesn't need to have a plotter. If necessary, he can send it over to Staples and have them printed out there.

If he wants to that is.

Re: Shaper & Router Profile Chart....

Now I have corel draw X5...everything goes fine as far as layout.. but when I copy form Publisher and paste each shaper profile (framed) 1-3/4 x 6 " into corel... some of it disappears in the transfer...

Kent...it sounds like your getting frustrated with me....
your not alone....... I know I could send it to staples/Kinko's.. but what satisfaction will I get out of that,..... If you were in my shoes ... I think you would do the same... especially when I am sitting here staring at a plot printer..

Kudos..

That didn't take long. I already told you that copy/paste probably wouldn't work. Save the Publisher file as a PDF or PS file, and Draw will be able to read that.

It won't be perfect; some objects may take a bit of tweaking, but you'll be able to print the whole thing.

Re: Shaper & Router Profile Chart....

I can't- seriously..how about excell... I have this on spread sheets..that is where I organized the shaper description file and I took each profile and copied & pasted to what ever I wanted... unfortunatly I decided to make my life more stressfull... and I unknowingly chose a program that would fullfill the outcome I have had from that moment on.....

Fine, send an XLS file then, and while you're at it, give me the exact make/model of your plotter, so I can get a driver for it.
