Are You A Numbers Guy Or ?

I tend to go to my math for stuff ie: sometimes I need an angle, so I figure out the sine or cosine etc... its quick on the calculator same with doing crown on off-angles, I use a calculator- one of the people on our site uses the cut/fit, cut/fit/ cut/fit method - I've been watching and learning, sometimes it is faster to scribe the odd line etc... guess any method is great if it works for you. I'm getting to be critical of myself though, thinking - what's faster here and looks great in the end?
right now I'm tryin to think of a quick way to measure from an inside 45 deg corner to another inside 45 deg corner accurately- so as to minimize my trips to the saw... (its about 2 feet) so far all I can come up with is to just scribe a line from the flat stright out - both corners and measure from one to the other.... problem is that the gyproc corners do not necessarily line up with the 7" of plywood that comes from the floor up... (that plywood sure makes it nice for nailing the base board though)
I did a corner on Friday, funny angle, got it just sweet- lead hand comes by- says- its gotta come out huh? it isn't square! I know! if I made it square it'd be just a shade over 1/2" out from the wall! he says its not your fault, its the wallboard guy's they missed by 5 deg.. sigh.. ok then, out it comes- squared it up- it was such a nice angle too LOL
kinda feel bad for the drywall guy, I've got to know him and he's a good egg - but I guess he's gotta come back next week and mud the heck outa several corners.
I hope he doesn't fart.

(this is a pic of the corner that I had to take out)
