Yahoo, Local Reviews.

I am so pissed off at Yahoo, Local right now!
I was doing a search on my company name last week and up pops a bad review on yahoo. I can live with a bad review because I can go back and make things right! What I can't live with is a bad review about another company that is listed under my company name! The two names are close, mine being Texas Decks, etc. the other company is called Decks, etc., but give a freakin break!
I send off an email to youwho and the reply I receive is unbelievable, it follows below.

Dear Brian,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Local.

We appreciate you writing to Yahoo! to express your concerns regarding
certain reviews or comments within Yahoo! Local. Please understand,
however, that Yahoo! is not in a position to judge the accuracy or
legitimacy of claims made by users in Yahoo! Local. These reviews and
comments are only the opinion of the poster, are no substitute for your
own research, and should not be relied upon for business, services, or
any other purpose.

As always, please feel free to post your own review or comment offering
your experience(s) with a particular business if you don't agree with
what you read within Yahoo! Local. If you choose to review or comment,
we strongly encourage you to read the Reviews Guidelines before posting.

My reply is below:

Dear Mr. ******
I am at a loss for words as to your explanation. I can not believe that an erroneous review can not be removed. I can understand a bad review being left in place but not one that has nothing to do with the company/service that has been reviewed!
I will continue further up the management ladder until this problem is resolved and if need be I will seek legal counsel to correct this problem.

I guess what I need to know is have any of you run into this problem and if so how where you able to resolve it?

Thanks for any and all help!
Brian

Welcome to the internet!

Truth is, those reviews could be written by anyone. Including your competitors.

Then just delete your listing http://listings.local.yahoo.com/account/

Sign in and you should see a list of active listings you have. Then click on cancel to deactivate the listing. Create a new one if you want.

BK,
Thanks for the info. I did just that and hopefully the listing will now disappear.
