Question

Work Boots

Hey everyone how are you all doing im Rich and I just wanted to see if any of you have ever owned a pair of Ariat Work Boots and what you think of them. I used to buy redwings but since they started making them in China I refuse to buy them anymore. These boots run between 200.00 and 90.00 bucs and I was just trying to get some input if anyone has tried them.

Re: Work Boots

I've been wearing ariats for quite a while now. I started wearing them when I showed horses, and still wear the work boots.

Re: Work Boots

I ALWAYS buy steel tip boots. I've never worn anything else. That being said I like Carolina's for their durability and Timberland Pro for their comfort. I've never bought a boot more comfortable to my feet. Waterproof is another little bonus.

I wear Justin workboots. Proudly made in the USA. One of only a few brands that I can get in size 15.

Re: Work Boots

Boots .... the one tool I spare no expense. The rest of my body's a wreck, my feet may as well be 'taken care of'.

Re: Work Boots

Are Ariat's roof friendly? I like Redwings because I seem to get better traction and more feeling on pitched roofs.

Wear skate shoes on the roof.

It's the 'crepe' sole material in Redwings that is 'roof friendly', both for the roof and my safety. I have switched to 'Chippewa', 3/4 cut and crepe soles, light weight, durable, ~$120 ...... not waterproof ..... the way it rains here 'waterproof' is a myth and a legend.

Edit: Speaking of waterproof ..... my favorite is siding on a rainy day before the gutters go up.

I know, I have a pair of Vans that I got a long time ago just for walking on roofs. They are black so I can use them for going out clubbing too. I might get another pair, sometimes when shoes are old they lose their adhesion, so I wouldn't want to risk climbing on a roof with them.

Mine too, as long as I'm inside cutting while someone else is under the eaves.

I like the waterproof boots though. If I combine that with Sno-seal over them, then wear some REI waterproof socks under it. That's usually enough to keep my feet dry, even in a downpour.
