Question

Where To Find Rubber Moulds?

I'm finding a lot of my customers are looking to add mouldings made from plaster. Does anyone out there happen to know where I can buy the rubber moulds needed to make plaster mouldings? I know there are a lot of plaster moulding companies where I can buy the finished product, but they're expensive. I'm thinking if this many people want to add this feature to their homes, I can make some pretty good money fabricating them myself....it cant be that hard or expensive to make...its only plaster RIGHT? Anyone know of a company?

Re: Where To Find Rubber Moulds?

I have been making moulds for plaster cornice and crown mouldings for years now and if you think it's easy well I have news for you, it aint. sometimes I have to cast a mould 6 or 7 times just to get a good section that I can install. As for buying moulds from a company in the 22 years I have been in business I have found no one who will sell you their moulds, that is something you'll have to do on your own. I have repaired thousands of homes and as I'm working in a house I ask the home owner if I can make a mould of their cornice moulding or crown, the thing here is that most of these are covered with years of paint and to make a real good detailed mould all the paint has to be removed, so unless you have customers who wouldn't mind you stripping the paint off then making a mould then repainting the crown or cornice moulding then Good Luck.
Oh and as for a market good luck, there are so many companies that make moulds from foam and other plastics it will be hard to sell home owners on buying from you.

Well, spammers are noted for their persistence, and also for their obviousness. Why do they jump straight into it? Why not build up a few innocent posts first?

And the amazing thing is they all tend to sound like they are quoting stuff straight from the publicity material of the firm they represent, or own.
