Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
Just wondering where many of you get your cabinetry from?
Do you use custom built boxes or prefabricated boxes? What are the pros or cons of prefab cabinetry? |

Re: Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
I get custom built boxes from my workshop. The advantage to me is that the plywood stacks flat in my truck. Once it is transformed into boxes, it doesn't stack near as well.
I like to be a redneck anti-trade person. Some are against buying stuff from people who are governed by regimes other than the US. I'm against buying anything which I can't make myself. This is a key ingredient to my wealth and presbyterianism. |

I make my own. Pre-fab is junk. Nothing to rate that last comment against but my own opinion.
As the man above me said, I'll never purchase some Chinese or Mexican crap made by slave labor. Not on my shift, I won't. Also notice that Chinese made plywood is crap. BIG gaps inbetween plys. |

I get mine from Yankee Design & Building...( shameless Plug) I agree with all the previous posts. Why send US dollars to companies that don't help in the equation of keeping Americans working.

Depends on the job and customer.
Sometimes custom, Ive used Omega, and its usually Aristokraft for the basic kitchen jobs. |

Consumer Reports is like the BBB. Pay them to be a member, get better ratings. Never trust someone that gets paid by the people they rate.

I can't agree with that statement. I belong to the BBB. No HD or Lowes. I go through a local cabinet co. for mine. |

Re: Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
Oh man Derek! At least get a "Under Construction" page!
It's OK, mine has been incomplete and off-topic ever since I registered it.As far as cabinets, I make my own boxes and order the doors and drawers. Frameless, edgeband, eurohinge.....cheap!

Unless it's a high-end custom work that's called for, then I job it all out. Too much hassle. |

Re: Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
I've also hung a couple of sets of kraftmaid and 1 set of Aristokraft in the last year. Prefer the kraftmaids, but I get them through my local supplier instead of a box store....there is a difference. My daughter and son in law both work at a plant that makes them. They each get a huge discount on 1 set every couple of years. Been waiting on the right job to cash in on that.

Re: Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
Who's your supplier for the doors and drawers? I'm currently considering going this route.

Re: Where Do You Get Your Cabinetry From
I'm a dealer for Woodland cabinets, and I hire out custom locally to a couple of places. For doors and drawers I buy from Valley Oak in Omaha.
