I agree. We all pull a dipwad now and then, and being man enough to tell the story on yourself gets a from me.

After all, at the least it lets me feel superior because I'm not the one who did it. For a change.

Re: When Will I Ever Learn?

Kaiser,
Just because you invite a friend into your home or you share something with a friend...does that give them the right to steal it from you? If he comes into you house and he steals from you...does that make it your fault because you trusted your "friend"...I say not, it makes the friend only a common thief. It would be one thing if they guy asked you upfront if you would mind...but he didn't he stole it from his friend...I really would like to know how many years you actually knew this guy...and how well you really know him. A friend does not steal from a friend and what he did was steal information to use for his own gain...that makes him a thief...of the worst kind because he had no thought or regard about your "friendship" and how it could negatively effect your financial situation...it sounds like a one sided friendship all about him...sounds like your loyal to him...but he isn't to you...THAT"S NOT A Friend...

No matter how I look at it I can't see it as stealing.

Lets try it this way.

Lets say you and I are throwing darts for money, I look over and notice you are closing one of your eyes before you throw.
I stop you and explain that with one eye you don't get the depth perception needed to be accurate that way.

I just gave you info that helps you throw better darts.

Do you then say, "Your right but because your my friend I will continue with one eye closed"?

No you don't because you need the money and because we are friends you by the next round with the money you just made from my studity.

If I had told this guy my bid price and he went back and changed his #'s to outbid me, That would be stealing. That's not what happened.

As a matter of fact after the GC"s bids were opened we talked price. I came in lower than he did, we are usually pretty close but his company has more overhead and better name recognition.

We can all agree on that. I hate when I go home at night and feel like I was the mouse instead of the cat.

Re: When Will I Ever Learn?

You gave the info to a "friend." Did you not expect him to take advantage of it?
So, you are learning. The damage is done. Keep you "friend," but realize that he does not have you back. Keep business separate from friendship. Maybe you can do "business" to your mutual benefit in the future. And, you can always ask for a favor when you really need one, but don't depend on getting it.
