What's Velux EDM Flashing Sill Apron Made Of?
Gentlemen,
First off, Merry Christmas. Second - I'm going to be installing a skylight on a metal roof using the Velux EDM flashing kit. The piece that fits on the bottom of the light has a pliable apron that you can mould to the ridges of the metal roofing. I'm looking at it - highly pliable, feels like metal, maybe plastic-coated... Anyone know for sure what this is made of? I'd guess lead from the pliability, which wouldn't make me happy, but it seems too light for lead...hmm... Thanks. Merry Christmas Bob,
I'm pretty sure that it's lead. Talk about pricey, the flashing kits cost almost as much as the lights! |

I thik it's either zinc or aluminium that is coated with some plastic. I'm very sure it's not lead (not with a metal roof).

You can always call Velux and ask them.
