Re: What's The Going Rate?

I'll give you the going rate if you can answer this question:

A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat grass, the same stuff.
Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and
a horse produces clumps of dried grass.
Why do you suppose that is?"

Re: What's The Going Rate?

I just have a project coming up. I'm going to be tearing down an out house and using the old wood from the out house to build a deck. What is the going rate for tearing down an out house and building a deck out of the out house materials with a fully functioning toilet attached?

Re: What's The Going Rate?

First off what the "Going" rate is and what you ned are 2 different things. I do not mean to sound as if I am comming across nasty, but YOU are the only one who knows. Y
our overhead and mine are different.
Your experience and mine are different.
Your labor and mine are different.
Your ambition and mine are different.
how can someone charge the going rate if they are just startig out or lack experience? If you are in business for yourself you should know these things.

The "going" rate? I don't know. I had to put a dime in a public toilet once to get inside.

Re: What's The Going Rate?

Let's see now. If you are the 15 year old snotty nose kid behind the counter at McDonalds, around $8/hr.
If you are charging the same as the plumber,. $80/hr
If you are a Mercedes mechanic, it would be $125/hr.
If you are my franchise lawyer, $625/hr
If you are Kristen (Eliot Spitzer's girlfriend) $4300/hr.
If you are Bill Gates, it works out somewhere around $1,000,000/hr

Therefore, the "going rate" ranges from $8 to $1,000,000 per hour. You are free to set your own rate.
